We made our biggest singing of the summer on the last day of the window last year. Worth keeping that in mind.

Barker? Wouldn't say he was our biggest signing.

You’re such a bedwetter, you’re posts are annoying me etc.

Don’t you know you’re supposed to tell people how you’re not worried so that you look calm and collected? I mean we’re going to absolutely skoosh the first Europa League game incase you haven’t heard. We’ll probably be able to send the 20s over for the second leg.
Many people are calm and collected because we've just had our best ever SPL season in terms of points after coming up from the Championship, have 13,000 season ticket holders, a squad with the kind of quality that we could only have dreamed of four years ago, and have already acquired our most important signing this summer.

What is there to worry about, honestly? A week on Sunday we have the testimonial of a player that we have done amazingly well to hold onto in the last three years, and then a European tie to look forward to. Our CEO and manager have a track record of bringing in quality and more will come.

Why on earth would you stress during the close season?

Because it gets you attention and makes you feel important?

What would you like us all to do to speed up the signings?

Darmstadt want a six figure sum for Maclaren.
Recruiting Maclaren was always going to be a long shot, but I'm sure hibs will have alternatives in mind.

You never know what might happen. I think Maclaren is a long shot, but Genoa had stated that they wanted a £600K fee for Milinkovic, and yet Hearts managed to negotiate an acceptable fee for him. Obviously they didn't match his wage demands, but the fee was sorted.

    This.

If I was the manager of the Faroese team I'd pin the posters initial post on the dressing room wall.

    Team talk already made.

We'd still pump them, the players are not going to suddenly become decent just because some fisherman come part time football manager has put a quote from Hibs.net on the dressing room wall.

I feel the same about players coming in, the ones we're looking at will command a fee of sorts, we could possibly afford them as it is but it'll leave us short in the kitty. If McGinn goes, we'll have what money we already have plus his transfer cash, then we can do business properly without worry. We've spent in the past but never overly large amounts, maybe we'll see the purse strings loosened a wee bit now we have a more stable base.
' if McGinn goes' there by hangs the problem, does he want to go & does he want to go just now. He strikes me as a boy who knowes his own mind & won't be pushed into doing something just to suit others agenda.

Deary me. I’m glad the players won’t go into the game with this attitude. They drew with Fulham a few years ago. We all saw hat happened with Hearts and Rangers

Been told were trying for Anthony Ralston, presumably a loan.

Don’t know if it would be part of the Mcginn deal.

And if he does decide to stay and maybe sign a wee extension, then presumably one of the midfield targets won't be a necessity and we'll save money there.

Edinburgh evening news saying we're stepping up our bid for Mallan, and then go on to mention pretty much a lot of what's been said on here.

When was the last time we paid a fee of any substance for a player
If Lennon thinks we can develop him further and there is money to be made from selling him on further down the line then we have to be prepared to fork out a Transfer Fee
But don't see us paying more than £200,000 Would expect we would rather give them a percentage of any subsequent Transfer Fee and pay a nominal amount up front

We’ve just paid a six figure fee for Kamberi so another one is not out of the question.

That would truly be the best outcome.

    Sadly, the fire's oot.

Worth considering, with the Europa League games in mind, maybe Neil Lennon would prefer to keep John McGinn until the last day of the window as well, in order to have a well-kent midfield unit of McGinn, Bartley, Slivka, Swanson, Boyle (when fit)

With a settled backline, and Kamberi/Shaw up top to begin with, it would mean NL doesn't have to try and assimilate too many new faces?

Interesting that Hibs have just posted an Instagram story picture of Maclaren celebrating (as a cartoon) with the "Natural Order" sign under it and the caption "Maclaren makes it 2"...know this is obviously a flashback to a key game in the season but am I reading too much into the speech bubble too?

I fear that Hibs problem is that there is no-one decent left now that Hearts have scooped up the cream of European football.
