Orion 1.6i Ghia. It was basically a saloon version of the XR3i and could shift.

Ford made a few good cars around that period. The fiesta XR2i was good as well, and the Cosworth cars were brilliant.

If it’s cars you owned then my very first car, a 1 litre 2008 polo would get my vote. Like a wee go-kart, great memories in that car although I’m sure that’s more to do with the novelty of driving at the time rather than the car.

If it’s any car then I love the Eleanor Mustang from Gone In 60 Seconds. The most beautiful car I’ve ever seen.

Had an oak green mk2 golf big bumper 3dr.

    Either that or a 1.9 205 GTi or a Sierra XR4x4.

Favourite car I’ve owned was one that I coveted since I first saw a pic of in a pack of ‘Top Trump’ cards back in the 70s. 30odd years later I was chuffed as when I finally bought a manual Jaguar XJS - sadly long gone but loved it to bits...

My first car was a well spanked Mk2 1.1 Escort followed by a Mk1 XR2 which I loved but kept smashing, Cairns Coachworks absolutely loved me as I managed to prang it 6 times in one year. My favourite was an Integrale Evo Kat which unfortunately I have no photos of but here's some that I'm sure will bring back some memories for some......

I’ve almost bought a Capri a couple of times. The problem is you couldn’t rely on it to be your main car. One day though.

So it wasn't nicknamed the Ford Crapi for nothing?
Like the Ford Classic, I always wanted one.

A thing of beauty but dysfunctional, seems my taste in cars and women have a lot in common.

I loved mine. £450 from a boy in mid Calder in 1987. A ridiculous starsky and hutch paintjob, Stax suspension so it's rear end was hanging just off the ground, it took corners like a dream. The big end went 9 months later but what a 9 months it was.

(there are no euphemisms in this post, after rereading it it does look like something Swiss toni would say).

95 had the fins at the back, 96 had a streamlined back. I had a 95 for a while. Column gear stick. Idiosyncratic but actually a hunk of junk.
