    Chris Hogg at Ipswich Town

I see from the BBC football website that our CIS cup legend Chris Hogg is at Ipswich working with the development set up there and is stepping up to help out with first team matters until the end of the season following Mick McCarthy’s accrimonious departure following apparent fan unrest.

Was he not a coach at Inverness?

    Am I making that up?

As mentioned, cup winner. That's an elite Hibernian group. Served us well.

Played for them. Don’t think he ever coached.

Yeah went to Inverness and done his cruciate iirc. His blog while he was injured was very open and honest and I had a nasty injury at the time and was in contact with him during both our rehabs. Really nice guy

Looked a bit more into McCarthy’s hastened departure from Ipswich, seems to be a lot of ill feeling there. Saw his post match interview from the other night, don’t think I’ve ever seen such contempt between a manager and a support or a section thereof. The comments on BBC Norfolk’ fans phone in seems to confirm that it’s mutual.

Good to see him doing well after playing. Our POTY in 2007 and formed a great partnership with Rob Jones.

Might be making this up but did Hogg not come over to the fans for a ‘chat’ at the end of a game one time?

Over to the old East possibly under Mixu?

We were in a **** run of form and think he was genuinely looking to answer some of the questions/abuse the team were getting.

    Maybe Killie or ICT?

IIRC he got a bit of a roasting being played out of position at right back against St Mirren away but even then didn't drop his head. One of Mowbray's who is he signings that paid off.

The Ipswich connection is very strong for him. I think he married George Burley’s daughter too.

Great to see. Seemed a very nice guy from those who have met him. Underrated player in my opinion. Would have fitted into the current team no problem.

Remember the season when he won our POTY (07-08?) and he was outstanding. Strolled it.

Cup winning legend and vastly under appreciated.

I always thought he needed good players around him to play well, but when he had that he was an excellent player.

Players like Griffiths could thrive with any old crap around him, but when we started to sell the good players from around Hogg he started to struggle a bit.

I think that's true enough, although I can't remember the opposition at the time.

You’re not making that up. I can’t remember the circumstances or who it was against but it was right in front of me. I remember him climbing up on to the fence shouting at people that we needed to stick together.

IIRC he put his fist through a car window going after burglars trying to take his sister’s motor.. may have that wrong though.

It’s exactly what I was thinking of when I mentioned him being hard as nails.
