    Big day for us tomorrow

Mentioned this on the PM board the other day but thought I’d open it up to a wider audience seeings as there’s not too much Hibs stuff to talk about just now.

Killie drop points to Hamilton (surely to god they’ve got to lose at some point) and Aberdeen beat Motherwell (should happen) and that’s Europe almost definitely confirmed.

Killie would need to win 3 of their last 5 (won’t happen) and we’d need to lose all 5 (can’t see it)

Could end up being quite the productive day at the office without us having to leave the house.

Much as I’d like to see it, I honestly can’t see Killie dropping points tomorrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if it goes the other way. Kilmarnock to win and Motherwell to get through, even if it goes all the way to penalties.

Not a disaster if it does.

We’ll still finish a above Killie imo but it’d be nice to get some breathing space and Celtic or Rangers likely to beat Motherwell in the final.

Just noticed that Killie are away to Hamilton, draw not out the question there imo and that’s no use to Killie, they need to win to catch us imo.

Wouldn't rule out Hamilton getting something a wee bit unlucky v Celtic last week on that awful pitch. Killie luck due to run out soon Partick should have taken something off them last weekend.

We're cool, Motherwell wont win the cup (part of me actually hopes they will). Fourth place and really believe we'll finish higher, will get a european spot.

Lot of respect for the job Steve Clarke has done at Killie.

Main reason I'd like Killie to lose tomorrow is that I can then actively want them to beat Aberdeen/Rangers when they meet them in the split, without it being potentially disastrous for us in 4th.

Aberdeen to go through and Killie to draw.

    Yeah.

Means the cup winner will be in the top 4.

Out of the 4 teams I'd much rather see Motherwell lift the cup, so if they could win it and we get 2nd or 3rd it would be ideal. But need to think of ourselves first so the sooner we guarantee Europe the better.

    Agreed.

However even third is a big ask so I'm hoping that Aberdeen win today.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Hoping for Aberdeen win on penalties with plenty of injuries, not too serious, but leaving half the squad out until summer. And Hamilton beat Killie with Steve Clarke raging after the ref awards Hamilton a dubious penalty in the last minute, and he hands his resignation in due to the incompetent referees in the Scottish game.
    Put yer mortgage on it.

Quite a weak looking Aberdeen team, with their 3 suspensions

If well are up for the game then they could nick it. I think it will be tight. Predicting any game is hard and both the games look too close to call. I think the dons might win in either extra time or pens. I'd hope that Hamilton will get something from the game and if they play as well as they did v celtic then I think they will. A draw there would be fine for us.

Think you’re being a bit dismissive in thinking Killie would be unlikely to win 3 of their last 5. Based on current form I’d say that was well within their capabilities.

They have been very lucky in their last few away games to get wins so I'd say it will be tough for them to get more than 9points from their five games after the split which would mean us needing two wins to be fourth. Let's just take each game as it comes to use the old cliche.

Without McLean and Shinnie Aberdeen will lose this.

Aberdeen got a decent bench. Presume keeping it tight, and win it later on

Relying on Aberdeen in a big game is a worry. Total bottlers.

    I am a bit torn.

Assuming Celtic beat Sevco tomorrow then a Motherwell win would be a hammer blow to our two main rivals for 2nd. Aberdeen in particular could struggle to recover given the reputation they have for bottling big games in Glasgow. A big Glasgow derby victory for Celtic along with the Lying King comments in midweek re Murty could put them in a downer.

I also can’t stand the thought of Aberdeen winning the cup. I think they are bottle merchants big time and the arrogance and coverage from BBC Radio Scotland towards them is even worse than the the yams and budge love in.

So a Motherwell win today would be ok in my book!

    Question.

Sevco winning the cup or Motherwell winning the cup (denying us Europe)

    What’s your choice? 🙄😬

Having seen how poor Aberdeen were without Shinnie, think they will be there for the taking. It will depend on Motherwell stepping up though (but they did that against The Rangers)
