    IMO, that would detract from the main job of an agent, ie to act on behalf of their client. By putting a cap on things, they would have to consider their own position to a greater extent...eg by dissuading clients from going to clubs which they were suited to, just to avoid breaking the cap.

    Playing Devil's Advocate but they're not taking money out of the game any more than players are.

    For what it's worth, agents should be paid by players imo.

    When I got a new job, my "agent" was paid by the company who hired me. Although all of the relationships involved were very different to football.
