Without belittling the contribution of any service personnel in the First World War, it sticks in the craw somewhat that Hearts make such a big deal of giving the impression that they and they alone were the club most associated with a football battalion.

It was a very interesting read over breakfast.
As regards Hearts, they are the ones belittling everyone else's contribution by overemphasing the efforts of those associated with their club who would themselves be appalled by the shameless way that Hearts have hijacked it for publicity.Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.
