I think it's time we thought of a new name for our near neighbours as i find yams cringeworthy! I'll start the ball rolling with THE SAVILLE'S or CHARITY THIEVE'S but I'm sure the rest of you will think of something far more insulting?

Nothing wrong with the term Yam - just about fits them perfectly. It's a vegetable and is from the family of tubers. It's also known as an invasive species and regarded as a noxious weed outside of cultivated areas - whats inaccurate about that?

I've never once heard any Hibs fan refer to them as Yams in the "real" world. Must be an internet only thing , think its cringey as **** to be honest.

Shart of Midlothian (Sharts) - They were the early warning signs for Levein that morning in '86.

I have never called them that myself. It would be interesting to know where it came from as it doesn't really make much sense.

Got to be a generational thing as the yam term is certainly used amongst my friends and family, we even have a family yam.
It's possible to call them more than one name

Out of three names mentioned, Yams is the least cringeworthy for me - 'Savilles' and 'charity thieves' is a bit school playground, and as for Yams, I'm another who's yet to hear anyone refer to them as that away from this forum.
The Jambo's is too affectionate for me, so I just call them Hearts and leave the childish name calling to Hearts fans.

One of my mates calls them the "Maroon Baboons"
Goes quite well to be honest!

We need to stop this obsession with that lot on here, we are getting bad as kickback.

To me they are "the ****my, cheating, robbing, tory, puddle drinking, reeking melts" like keeping things simple

Like others I would never use the word ‘yams’ to describe them and have never heard anybody call them that. Find it neither funny nor appropriately offensive to them. A .net phenomenon that hasn’t really caught on imo.

I always refer to any individual jambo, or collective for that matter as a Hertz ****(s) or Jambo Basturd(s)
"YAMS" makes my toes curl tbh but I don't know why.
Poppy thieves - like
Savilles - really? Making light of anything that horrible basturd done is really ***** patter. Hun like almost
