I usually park on St Claire street at Hibs games for my dad, there was a lack of free spaces and many of the cars parked there didn't have blue badges, I ended up having to squeeze my car into a tight spot and broke the lacquer on my wheel against the kerb. It's good the offenders get penalty notices but it doesn't solve the problem, they should be towed.

Now I need to get the lacquer redone on my wheel.

Apparently that’s what learners/new drivers are taught now.

Well they're risking folk running up their *****!! I was the second car at the entrance and could see the roundabout clear and the next entrance clear. No need to stop, move onto roundabout. Nope, ended up slamming the brakes in cos the guy in front decided he needed to stop just to be sure that the roundabout was clear and there was no one coming onto it from the next entry. If that's what they are being taught then it us changed days from my lessons. To be fair there us now no one running in front of the car with a red fake any more either!!

They've lost the plot in Berlin now, they're starting to change the bus lanes into 3m wide cycle paths.

Anyone else thought Edinburgh has been so much busier traffic wise since the pandemic? I go into the office a couple of times a week and it's been mental. Especially Telford/Queensferry Road.

Yup... never ending roadworks as well

Easter Road to odeon at Westerhailes was less than 15 mins longer today than it was by car yesterday..... and that's with a change of bus.

Is people coming off the Bypass at every junction then rejoining the carriageway at the same junction for the sake of getting about 3 cars ahead a new kind of ersehole behaviour or has it always been a thing?

Nope Witnessed it on most journeys home trying to cross the bypass at Hermiston for years. Increased travel time was the main reason I decided to bring semi retirement forward

Been happening for years, the ironic thing is (IMO) when the vehicles rejoin they actually cause the tailback they were trying to avoid.
Case in point is Lothianburn westwards. Most afternoons there's queuing traffic from Lothianburn back to Lasswade. I swear it's the traffic joining that causes all the stop-start.

Ditto for the Queensferry Crossing heading north in the evening. Absolute melts.

Drivers waiting to turn right at a junction who don't close the gap between themselves and the car in front. It just means that only 2 or 3 cars make the turn per light change sequence instead of 5 or 6.

That's a big gap, 3 cars length. Only explicable by assuming that there's people around with a rigorous enough understanding of the highway code to believe that you must never enter a yellow box if there's a stationary car in front of you.

The horn is supposed to be used to warn others of your approach, not to vent your frustration at other drivers.

You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear. However, you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right, and are only stopped from doing so by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right.

Why do you think they leave a gap, if not because of something they believe about yellow boxes?

    Pretty obvious.

The first vehicle can enter the yellow box junction because their exit is clear, vehicles behind should wait until the car exits the box junction before entering.

At Barnton last week I saw people sitting in yellow boxes and people running red lights and a police car just sitting watching this all happen. No wonder it's chaos out there.

Said this many times but happened again on Saturday on the Glasgow Road. Halfwit who turned left from the outside lane and nearly hit me as I was using the bus lane as permitted to do so.

I had to drive West along the bypass every working week day for 4 years and when the bypass was chocca repeating that manouvere was the difference between making meetings or not sometimes. Got you past a lot more than 3 cars. And psychologically it was far better than sitting in crawling traffic

Heading East along the bypass last week from Glasgow Road and Google Maps actually diverted the car off the start of the bypass and onto the Hermiston/Calder slip road and back on at Calder, for an alleged 6 minute time saving. An important 6 minute saving for me.

Not a peeve, but too funny not to share. A traffic cop from Wiltshire has just made the stop of the century.

I love commenting on their account. I generally go in with both a wind up and a well done comment. They have pushed back a couple of times, but that just adds to the fun.

Behind a branded driving instructor car which only had the driver so. I assume he is a driving instructor. Failed to indicate on three separate occasions! What chance does his pupils have.

A lot of instructors drive like lunatics when they are behind the controls alone for some reason.
