It's a sobering thought that while money is getting spent at a rate of knots this Christmas by many of us, there are still families in crisis who are being referred to food banks. A bag of shopping is nothing for most going to today's game.

Went to Meadowbank Sainsbury's specifically yesterday. It's an absolute shambles that food banks have to exist in 2017 Britain but glad to do my wee bit in helping them.

Well done, mate, you're a good egg. We will be taking some stuff along too. It's a national disgrace we have people going hungry, but here we are a decade in to austerity and welfare cuts.HIBERNIAN FC - ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY SINCE 1875

I'm coming through from Aberdeen as we speak but will pop into a shop and get a few things. Where abouts at ER do you drop it off?

Crazy how this is necessary in 2017. Food banks. What a total shambles we're making.

Is there just the one collection point or will they be situated at various locations?

Are sweets alright? Might be a small treat for a youngster who needs one at this time of year.

I’ve just been to Morrisons and picked up most things on the list as well as dipping my own kitchen cupboards. Really doesnt cost a fortune but can make a huge difference to families this Christmas.
Get involved if you can!!
Merry Christmas to everyone.

I'll get some shopping from Tesco on the way to ER, as stated above its shocking that food banks exist in 2017, but it certainly warms the heart that so many are willing to contribute to help those less fortunate, especially at this time of year. Well done fellow Hibees.

All set. May have overdone it a tad
Never thought I would be doing this in 2017. Serious questions need asked of our politicians

This and sleep in the park, while great initiatives doing great things is shocking, the fact that this burden is being carried by ordinary people trying to make a difference shouldn't be necessary. They shouldn't have to. Politicians at Westminster and hollyrood should be having a serious look at themselves as running a country like Scotland/UK that still has homelessness and needs food banks in 2017 is poor.
Well done to all those who help, hopefully you won't have to soon.Mon the Hibs.
