    Project Brave

Appologies if I've missed it but not seen a thread on this. Looks like quite a significant step has been taken aimed at streamlining the club academy set up.

Clubs were graded on a range of criteria including staffing and facilities, with measurable performance outcomes also taken into account.

The top tier clubs will continue to receive funding from the governing body with additional funding for reaching objectives.

Clubs outwith the highest level will still receive some funding to continue their development work.

    Project Brave 'Elite' clubs

    Aberdeen
    Celtic
    Hamilton
    Hearts
    Hibs
    Kilmarnock
    Motherwell
    Rangers

    Project Brave 'Progressive' clubs

    Ayr United
    Dundee United
    Forth Valley
    Inverness
    Partick Thistle
    Ross County
    St Mirren
    St Johnstone

    Project Brave 'Performance' clubs

    Dundee
    Fife
    Greenock Morton
    Queen’s Park

Elite clubs will play each other three times a season and play performance level clubs once.

Slightly worrying is that St Mirren and Dundee United both confirmed they could not afford to apply for a place in the elite bracket due to having to employ additional coaches.

I'm all for improving the youth set up and feel it's been badly needed for some time. Just hope the SFA get this one right.
