Just a quick mention of the big man. While McGinn and McGeough are rightly getting the plaudits tonite Marv makes watching a derby an easier experience by helping securing us at the back. He allows players to play and if I'm being honest I quite like him keeping an eye on Effe as well

The big man was absolutely outstanding tonight, second half especially. If it wasn't for Dylan he'd have been my man of the match tonight. Absolutely key in these kind of games, take a bow big fella!

The Matty who role?

"Romanov was like a breath of fresh air - laced with cyanide." Me.

Has he ever been anything other than superb in a derby? Absolutely essential for these games. Anytime hearts break its always in the back of my mind no to worry, big marv will get them.

A part of me is sad to say this but the Matty Jack role may have just become the Marvin Bartley role.

Is it time for Bartley to be knighted?

The whole midfield is the difference. We have 3 excellent midfields thay donwhat they do and 2 decent wingers roing their thing. Problem is up top just now holding the ball uo a bit more (gosl aside) murray needed to retain possesion a bit more. Stokes can do it well and fromt he short time he was on big davy looks to be a good target man alrhough we do loose pace. But it all starts with with marv being like a 3rd defender

He’s superb. His distribution has improved massively too. Nowhere better to learn his position than under Lennon.

I’ve got to eat a huge slice of humble pie. There was a time when I was screaming for Bartley to be out the team, that he slows us down, makes us far too defensive etc etc. perhaps there was elements of truth in it playing Championship teams who just sat in, but this man is made for the Premier League!
Boy has this guy been superb this season! His ability to muscle people off the ball is frightening, and I feel he’s even improved on picking the ball up and driving it forward!
Marvin, take a bow mate!!

The man is class. I never posted it at the time but I heard him interviewed on Radio Scotland and on top of him contributing to the Greenfell disaster his girlfriend and he spent some of Xmas day helping in a soup kitchen. Hibs class.

For me he is the best defensive midfielder in the league. No one does a better job than him at the role he plays. The yams must be sick of the sight of him
