    I don't believe anyone who is caught taking drugs, recreational or otherwise in Scottish football is caught 'randomly'.

    More-so that the test was carried out in the equivalent of the Pub League. I wasn't even aware doping control occurred at that level.

    Steroids aren't overly difficult to mask and can be done with readily available over the counter diuretics obtained at High Street chemists. While the masking agents are also illegal, he could have come up with a cock-and-bull story and got away with a 6 month ban rather than the 4 years he's been hit with.

    I think there's definitely a targeted testing culture based on 'whistleblowing'.

    The Jordan McMillan episode went some way to giving a claim like that some credence.
