The season after the 5-1 cup final. Fenlon in charge. Drove up to Tannadice in a show of defiance despite Craig Thomson reffing it. Anyone want to see the squad that day as a compare and contrast to what we have now? Thought so.

We have come a long way, it is weird but looking back relegation is what the club needed to rebuild. The last 3 years (mainly due to cups) - but also some of the league games have gave me some of the most enjoyment following Hibs. 4.0 v Rangers at easter road stands out as one of favourite league games.

I can't remember the exact team but the season opener the following season must have been worse. We lost 0-1 at Easter Road to Motherwell just a couple of weeks after the Malmo debacle.

I didn't realise Ross Caldwell was quoted at the start of that season. Thought he made his debut last league game that season , at Tynie.

That game was the angriest I've ever seen our support up to that point. After the 2012 final we'd been promised change, made a whole host of signings and got battered. Business as usual.
Thankfully we then went on to have a semi decent season, but as it turns out it was a false dawn.

There's much worse squads to think about.

I liked wee Pat as a man but he really couldn't see flaws in players. David Stephens played in every pre season game. He was pretty poor but Pat persisted with him at Tannadice where he had a shocker. IIRC that was his last game for us, he went from 1st choice to free transfer in about a week!
