    Cheick Tioté Dead.

The former Newcastle player has apparently died in China after falling ill after training. Only 30 years old as well.

Mind his goal against Arsenal when they came back from 4-0 down to draw.

Was he the one who scored the screamer in the 4-4 with Arsenal a few years back? 30 is no age, scary stuff.

****ing hell!! There must be something genetic in players from sub Saharan Africa as this is now about the 7th or 8th this has happened to.

Please don't take that as some sort of racist statement as it's not meant as such.

You are actually correct. Apparently the muscle that leads to the heart can become hard due to being super fit so to speak. Its a condition that effects some black men and woman for some reason.

There was a programme on Tv about it last year.

I was thinking the same. The first I remember was Marc Viven Foe. Apart from Phil O'Donnell, I can't remember any other white Europeans dying from this.

There was a Spanish guy, Daniel Jarque or similar from Seville but the overwhelming majority do seem to be from Cameroon/Nigeria and surrounding counties. Tioté was Ivory Coast no?

African players are genetically predisposed to this happening slightly more often unfortunately, it's absolutely tragic. Horrible news, RIP Cheick.

There's been a few white players have succumbed to defective heart conditions (Phil O'Donnell, Miklos Feher, Antonio Puerta) but yeah, I remember watching that documentary mentioned earlier too.

I only vaguely remember Tiote, but he was a hardy little ******* in that Newcastle midfield who could pick a pass. I also remember his screamer against Arsenal.

    No age at all!
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

I thought he was still at Newcastle; didn't know he left them last summer. I will remember for him for his countless bookings; he used to get a yellow card almost every game. Very sad news, and only 30. RIP indeed.
