Was having a discussion with a pal the other night about best Hibs game I have ever been to before Scottish cup final, been to some very dull and forgettable games but also some very good ones. 6-2 vs them comes to mind even the 2-2 at Tynecastle was great. I'm too young to have been at 7-0 however.
What is everyone's favourite hibs game before Scottish cup final? What are your earliest memories of Easter Road?

Millennium Derby. Battered them at Tynecastle. 6.05pm kick off on a Sunday. I was 15.
An older Hibernian fan said to me 'there is nothing better than beating them in their own midden' how true.

4-3 Falkirk. I've never been so exhausted after a game of football I didn't play in.

2007 League Cup Final - it was the first time I had ever witnessed a Hibs team winning a major trophy and it was a very special occasion for me for that reason.
The 4-3 semi v Falkirk is also up there, an absolutely mental game from start to finish and never before have I been to a game that has been so literally "a game of two halves". In fact that phrase was coined especially for that match!

We were blistering that day. And it started in snow and ended in sunshine.

European match. The 5-0 demolition of Napoli at Easter Road in 1968. 4-1 down from the first leg in Italy and with the legendary Dino Zoff in goals for the Italians we weren't expected to get through to the next round but we did.
A great night under the floodlights at Easter Road. That goal from Bobby Duncan too. Rumours are that the following year Neil Armstrong found the ball on the moon. Even did a few keepie uppies with it.
Also the two League Cup Finals of 1972 and 2007 at Hampden.Last edited by iwasthere1972; 16-03-2017 at 10:48 PM.

Rangers at ER circa 96. They had a ridiculously strong team. We won 2-1 despite them getting a penalty in the last couple of minutes. Laudrup missed it so the referee allowed him a retake which Leighton saved. Even then they nearly scored because Millen was all over Leighton congratulating him and getting in the way. From the penalty first being awarded to us finally clearing the ball it was a complete rollercoaster.
There's only one thing better than a Hibs calendar and that's two Hibs calendars

2-1 Aberdeen in the 2012 Semi-Final, 4-3 vs Falkirk in the 2013 Semi-Final or the last Edinburgh Derby. Aberdeen one as it was my first trip to Hampden in ages, Falkirk as it was mental and the derby as that is the best derby performance I've been at

2-1 derby win in October 94 in stripey sleeves. I wasn't at the Geebsie derby so this was the first time I'd seen us beat them in years. Michael O'Neill scored what turned out to be the winner.

a second leg game at Ibrox, when we carried a 2 nil victory from ER, and got beat 1 nil by a fantastic Davie Cooper goal at Ibrox but we won the tie. League cup QF if I am right? Also the 3 nil victory with O'Connor scoring firt was special. our stand was virtually rockin'. thought it might collapse!

The game discussed on the recent 'Two cup games v Celtic 85/86' thread - the 4-4 league-cup game with Septic, that went to ET and penalties, when Pierce O'Leary ballooned the ball over the bar. I can still remember my legs felt like I'd played throughout the entire game - and I was ecstatic that we'd gubbed these ......... folk !

As a 14 year old with my grandfather at Hibs v Juventus UEFA Cup 1st leg October 1974.
Hibs went 2-1 up with goals either side of the hour mark from Cropley and Stanton.
Juventus eventually won 2-4 with a couple of goals from the great Altafine.
Under the floodlights with a great atmosphere against a great team containing players I had only seen on TV. A wonderful memory.

Will also go for Sauzees debut away to Falkirk at Brockville. Crucial win through a fluke goal from Derek Collins.
