Eoin Jess used to crop up a lot, though not as much as Jamie Cureton. In the days before internet Gordon Strachan was always going to come and finish his career at ER.

Andy Rhodes the (then) Dunfermline keeper used to get mentioned a lot. At matches he seemed to have a very good relationship with Hibs fans (though maybe he was like that everywhere).
Tommy Burns was another name that cropped up all the time.

Not so much a reoccurring rumour but was there not a window where Paul Hartley was strongly linked?
