Who's the best player you've seen for the away team at Easter Road?
I'm gonna say Gazza. Cocky, arrogant, talented, could take stick and laugh it off. Oh... And what a player! Tin hat on...

Did Rooney not play for Everton against us before he was well known?

I didn't see him play at Easter Road but Zoltan Varga was I think the best player I ever seen play in Scotland, watched him at Pittodrie with my Dad......

There's been some absolute class in the SPL to be fair. Gattuso, Larsson, Van Bronckhorst, De Boer, Gascoigne, Laudrup, Christian Nade etc. Would have to go with Larsson though.

The obvious answer is Gascoigne.
However, one out of left field is the young Paul McStay.

Laudrup, Gascoigne or Larsson.
The thing is, we would lift our game against quality, proper quality, opposition, sometimes we took a doing but we did okay against Rangers in the 90s at times.
Does Messi count? Barcelona at Murrayfield!!!

Billy Bremner that night in 1973 was incredible. Without him Leeds would have taken one hell of a beating.

Włodzimierz 'Włodek' Leonard Lubański.
Played against us late 1969 for a friendly against Górnik Zabrze, this was a couple of weeks or so after they had dispatched Rangers from the Cup Winners Cup, winning both legs 3-1.
Lubański was absolutely fantastic that night as the Polish team won 2-1. The match was also noted for Shades debut, clattering in to Peter Cormack , which saw the Hibs talisman being carried off.
Górnik went on to lose the final in a close game against the highly talented Man City, who had players like Colin Bell, Mike Sumerbee & Francis Lee in their line up.
Lubański's stock grew and he was absolutely dominating the 1973 world cup qualifier, when Roy MacFarland put him out of the game for over a year, meaning he missed the 74 world cup. Poland comfortably won the game, 2-0, against big favorites England. Almost instantly that game was dismissed as the media focused on the Wembley, 1-1 game, a few months later and Brian Clough's comments about their "Clown" in goals.
Sadly, although Włodzimierz Lubański returned to the international stage, he wasn't nearly as effective as before [shades of John Brownlie], but it was still a privilege to see such a great player grace the playing surface at ER.

Davie cooper for well in I think was a 2-2 draw at Er. Just outstanding movement and crossed for the well goals. Other one was Russel Lapaty when playing for Falkirk. Still had it in his late thirties. Larson never impressed me but did always seemed to score.
