I wisnae there but every one of them was a 10 - except for Squirrel and McGinn, both 11.

    Nobody'll convince me otherwise.

    Marciano 7

    McGregor 7
    Hanlon 7
    Fontaine 6
    Stevenson 6
    Shinnie 6
    Fyvie 7
McGinn 7 (would have been 6 but for his goal)
    Holt 6
    Boyle 7

    Bartley - 2

    Graham - 3

No one in particular stood out overall but the whole team gelled well. Good team performance.

I thought best players were Boyle who caused problems all day and McGregor who was outstanding at the back. So I would score them higher with 8s.

It's strange because I read people saying that we were great against St Mirren last week - when I thought we were frustrating and average - whereas people are saying we were ok today, when I thought we played really well. We dominated the majority of the game (especially the first half), passed well, defended well and created lots of chances up front. I think it was our best performance of the season!

Marciano - 7 Great save from the header
Gray - 7 His usual self
Stevenson - 7 As per Gray
McGregor, Hanlon, Fontaine - 7 Dominant
McGinn - 7 Quiet but a great goal
Fyvie - 8 Links up the defence, midfield and attack so well
Shinnie - 8 Looked so much better today and had the Ayr back 4 struggling
    Boyle - 8 A defender's nightmare
Holt - 7 Was constantly fouled but stood up to it and works well with Boyle

Rocky - 8 was solid but that save bumps him up 1

Gray - 7 worked hard and exposed them well in the first - defended well in the second
Fontaine - 7 solid as per
    Hanlon - 7 see fonts
McGregor - 8 felt he got his head to everything and won every challenge he went in for
Stevenson 7 - same as gray

McGinn 7 - his goal was spectacular, still not quite himself but seems to be getting there
Fyvie 6 - not a standout but was solid
Shinnie - 8 improving week by week

Holt - 7 good workrate, was a real nuisance to there defence. He's going to need to sustain blood injuries to get penalties with this ref though
Boyle - 9 MOTM, two well taken goals, his pace is electric too.

Not sure what the subs did that was so bad as to warrant minus ratings?

Oops! Can confirm all subs definitely performed well enough to earn positive ratings!

    And Fontaine.

Don't want to tempt fate but there certainly isn't the same number of individual errors happening as in previous years. If we can keep that up we'll be fine because we really are playing against some pretty limited teams.

An argument for them being our best 2 players this season.

McGregor has been a tremendous signing.

Hardly ever puts a foot wrong and seems to really enjoy playing for us.

After hearing him speak on the cup final DVD I think he's our next captain. Extend his contract.

And hats off to the radges with the drum singing his praises at Somerset park!

Given that we got 3 goals with only 3 in midfield I can understand the comments on it being a strong team performance. Normally our midfield would be overrun with that formation.
