    Left by mutual consent!
Amazing achievement and pay off for all his dedication and hard work.

Not many Scots will be able to say they are the best in the world in such a popular sport.

Fantastic. We'll deserved. And let's not forget Djokovic's kind words saying Andy would deserve it. Two top class sportsmen, and right now the Hibby's number 1. 😬

Wonder if 2 brothers have ever been number 1 in singles and doubles before.

    Maybe the McEnroe brothers?

Congratulations Andy Murray, another milestone reached!

    - First Brit to win Wimbledon since 1936
    - First Brit to win US Open since 1936
    - Won the Olympics
    - Almost single-handedly won the Davis cup for GB (again, for the first time since 1936.)
    - Officially number 1 in the world

Absolute legend - Completely deserved and hopefully he'll get a couple of more slams to add the basket as well.

    .....Hibs class.

A year of achievement for Hibs and their own...a year in which an intended insult became a cry of triumph. Well done Andy

I think that Jamie has been knocked off No1 spot. Well done Andy though. A fantastic achievement.

Fantastic achievement in an incredibly competitive era. Only in time, will the country really begin to appreciate just how good this guy is. Our greatest ever sportsman.

2016 has been a wonderful year in sport...

Murray is a class act. An amazingly talented athlete who has put in the hard yards to get to the very top.

Let's enjoy him while we can. He maybe has another two or three years if he stays injury free to land a few more Slams.

What a vintage year for everything Hibiness. I think that we are lucky to have been part of this year. Next Friday and Saturday could add even more to it, fingers crossed.
