I've got a bit of sympathy with the ref. I once played in a Cup Final at work, it was an internal competition so having any spectators that weren't the subs was a huge surprise. The team we were playing had one very loud fan who shouted moaned and tried to ref the game for the whole 90 minutes. It was like toothache for the whole game. The entire game I was looking for the planets to align where I could put a tackle in in his location and take him out or at the very least give him something to complain about.
We've all been sat next to these guys and just want to punch their light out......

The fact the ref was getting abuse is not enough for him to ask the home stewards to remove the offender.

Making a rod for his own back though.
