The Referee in the Lewis Ritson fight has had a shocker there. Towel thrown in and he ignores it. Could have been hurt.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing there. Ritson was obviously done so why would he over rule his own corner?
    Every gimmick hungry yob,

He should be banned from boxing. That was an absolute disgrace. He has had some shocking judging results in the past but to risk someone’s health like that is beyond contempt.

Mental end to Ritson V Ponce, Ritsons corner throws the towel in and Steve Gray the ref throws it back out
I've never seen anything like to before.

I know the unified rules are that only the ref can stop the fight but if the towel comes in then you stop the ****ing fight.

Ritson was beat and he took a barrage of punches he didn't need to take.

I don’t know what to make of Joyce, he looks really cumbersome but he seems to get the job done. He reminds me of Lennox Lewis in the way he fights, but I’m not sure he’ll reach the heights Lewis did. One thing for sure is he’s got a great chin.

    United we stand here....

He's awkward and 19 stone, if he hits you then you will know about it, think JT was spot on is his assessment of the fight though

I thought so as well, his defence was poor and he won’t be able to just blow away the top fighters in the heavyweight division. Someone like Fury would take him apart if he doesn’t work on his defence. That chin and his power will always give him a chance though.

He reminds me of a very young Dillian Whyte who always looked awkward due to his kickboxing background.

Joyce is a far superior boxer / fighter than Whyte was many, many years ago. That said, Whyte has come on so much.

Thought Buatsi done well tonight. Referee could have stopped fight in 6th but doing the longer distance could be a good thing for him.

Good main event but that card was woeful. ‘First rule of fight camp - no easy fights’ was the motto, couldn’t have been more wrong, as one sided a card as you’ll ever see. This should have been week 1.

Many Pacquaio looked an old, old man last night. Time to call it a day. In the words of Rocky Balboa:

Taylor V Catterall at the Hydro on the 18th of December as expected, also officially announced his fights will be on Sky from now on too

We have Aberdeen at Easter Road that day, might just miss it and make the right the boys Xmas night out and stay over

DAZN price up to 7.99 now after matchroom added.

Same fixture a couple of years ago when he fought at the Hydro. Game was switched to Sunday so may well happen again.

They need to find better opponents for Katie Taylor otherwise her fights are going to become irrelevant in some respects.

Her last fight against Natasha Jonas was a cracker. I'd happily have watched a rematch of that.

Are there many viable opponents out there for her? My knowledge of women's boxing is pretty limited.
