Greenock Morton v The Sheep - Semi Final

On BT 527 if anybody is interested.

All Aberdeen with Morton reduced to the odd long ball.

Low attendance which is to be expected. I would imagine that everybody there could have fitted comfortably into Easter Road. Maybe even Tynecastle at a push. Would have made more sense playing it tomorrow at Easter Road.

An absolutely chronic kick off time for Aberdeen fans.

Was our semi final last year not a 3 o clock kick off? Presumably due to no TV coverage.

Around 12k Sheep at the game, which is pretty decent effort considering the early start & there were no trains that got to Glasgow in time for kick off until a "football special" was arranged about a week ago.....at a cost of about £50 I believe. Around 5k Morton fans, guessing around double their usual home support. Should've been at ER though, no question.

Would be nice to see a Rangers Aberdeen final, last minute winner from the Dons and a pitch invasion.

Correct. Kick off 3pm. Could easily have played it tomorrow at that time and Easter Road. Bit further for the Morton fans to travel but the kick off time and the atmosphere much better.

Crazy decision to play it at Hampden but it's Scottish football so when did a sensible decision ever happen.

Morton should have scored there. Good save from the keeper but striker made it easy for him.

I think Morton wanted it played at Hampden.

To be fair, literally the last semi final not involving a Glasgow team

Aberdeen having the same problems we have every week in the league against these teams. Struggling to break down a team sitting in.

    Can see Aberdeen losing this.

Wonder when they will get the bottlers tag? Every time they have got within striking distance of Celtic in the last 2 or 3 years they have bottled it, lost numerous semi finals (including to us) and they huffed and puffed in the final they did win.

Aye it's the Rangers fans waiting for their team to come out with the Scottish Cup.

    Maybe not.

    Good finish, horrible defending.

Anybody watching on BT Sport, the action is about 150 seconds behind the radio
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Aye well done, width and pace is not needed at all, is that what you are saying?

  22. #21
All Aberdeens success both for the goal and since does seem to be coming from driving quickly with the ball and getting it wide when it's on.

Could have even played that in Edinburghs small football stadium.

It could have then been declared as another Tynecastle sellout.

A bit strange that the game was played at Hampen when the last couple of years the LC semis have been played at ER and Tynecastle.

Terrible decision IM0. Never going to be an atmosphere at a ground 2/3 empty.

I was quite impressed by Quitongo, he looks like he could make the step up to a better standard.

TBH, if you never get to a final it's a good day out and not too much traveling for the fans.

Well it worked fine? Maybe worth giving it a bash.
