Bradford sub keeper after 2 minutes, he wasn't Injured

    Did anyone see/read about this?

Bradford subbed their keeper after 2 mins that the EFL cup (Which looks like the format has changed to be a bit like our league cup)

The reason being is because of rules regarding x amount of first team players starting. So they started their normal keeper only to sub him for the reserve as they wanted him to start.

Is it just me who thinks this rule is ridiculous? Why shouldn't you be able to field any team you want so long as they are registered to play?

They've changed the format and allowed Prem teams to put in "B" teams in, which none of the lower league teams are happy with as only 5 of the B team need to be U21, rest can be first team players.

So because alot of teams threatened to boycott the cup, the FA brought in further rules to stop it, such as either "5 highest appeared player for the season must play, 5 players who played in the last game must play" and one other, with threats of fines etc. For example, Portsmouth's last home attendance in the league was near 16,000, its expected to hit 500 for this cup.

Luton have changed there full team and asked why cant they utilize their full squad? and as you mentioned, Bradford subbed their keeper after 3 minutes claiming "he had a poor first 45 seconds" as to give their reserve/back up keeper a chance.

All a bit of a farce just to keep the big teams happy, whilst pissing off every smaller team who wanted a chance to get to a Wembley final.

Is it not our ex keeper - Ben Williams - who is Bradford keeper? Certainly used to be.

Cheers for that. Haven't been following his career since Bradford.
