Lockerbie station on the West Coast Main Line is the only ScotRail owned station in the country NOT to have any ScotRail trains call there. It is only served by Transpennine Express and the occasional Virgin Trains West Coast service.

Volkswagen make a new car every 16 seconds. I’m watching a programme that keeps repeating this fact, but I still struggle to believe it.

Their vehicle (not just car) production was apparently close to 11m in 2018, so close to one unit every 3 seconds...and that's assuming 24/7/365 production.

My brother-in-law works in a Bic lighters factory here in Brittany, where they manufacture 5 million disposable lighters per DAY. That's just one factory, with their global output being 3 times that IIRC.

That's a lot of non recyclable stuff being chucked away every day.

Plants communicate through smells rather than noise. The smell of freshly cut grass is the smell of fear and distress from the grass.

Fear is an emotion...I’m not sure grass is capable of being emotional!!

Distress though I can agree with. The grass has just been chopped to its chemical reaction will be one of distress aka its immediate reaction to start repairing itself.

Tomato plants are big on communication by odour - it's quite interesting to check out.

When they go to sleep, sea otters hold hands/paws so that they don't drift apart.
