There was a lot of negative talk in the run-up towards the First Leg against Brondby, as to how the ticket sales were going. As it turned out, the attendance was much better on the night than most of us expected.
To give some context, I though I'd compare it with the attendances at the other First Leg ties in the round.
Here they are, in descending order...
Kairat (Kazakhstan) v Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel) Central Stadium - Almaty 22,500 Partizan (Serbia) v Zagłębie Lubin (Poland) Partizan Stadium - Belgrade 15,870 Hibernian (Scotland) v Brøndby (Denmark)

Third highest, despite the 'high' price and lack of discount for ST holders. Not too shabby

Fitbaw folk knew Hibs would get 13k+ even at top dollar.....the drama queens on here were predicting less than 8k....they were wrong as per. The fans turned out in good numbers during the holiday season and if you average the entry fee out at £17 it means we made quarter of a million in gate money alone. Hopefully the fans keep turning up in such numbers.

Most of Russia is in Asia as well, so they probably shouldn't be part of UEFA.
I'd like to see somebody tell that to Putin ;-)

Healthy crowd for a game at this time of the season at such an early stage in the competition

Its a flippant point, but there is also a serious point in that half of the reason that european football has been so devalued at our level is the amount of teams that have to be crammed in. Hence us playing umpteen qualifying rounds starting a couple of weeks after the summer.
