Not many details as yet but I'm sure they'll appeal any jail sentence given, probably end up with a huge fine and a suspended sentence.

As my nine year old son said the fact he's in trouble with the law coupled with him failing too be part of a team who won the World Cup means Messi shouldn't have any claims to being one of the worlds best ever players.
My son is nine mind!

Pure greed.
There surely comes a point when you have quite enough money.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

People get on with what they do best, leaving others to deal with stuff they don't understand or are not interested in. It's not a bad decent model to follow, as long as you trust those you're relying on. The trick, though, is to make sure that those advisers are able, and are not hanging you out to dry.
Sting and Leonard Cohen take note

Surely less than two years is a light sentence given the fact millions are involved? Wonder if his status has anything to do with this outcome.

Did anyone expect a different verdict from a court in Catalonia?

He says he knew very little about his image rights as he was concentrating on just playing football, this might be the case as his father seems to be the main culprit here, tell his son he's dealing with all these things and just play his game, to pay back around 38m Euros.

"Messi, 28, said he signed documents without reading them because he trusted .....the advisers responsible for managing his finances."
Hmmm, the Beckenbauer defence.
