Todays decision by stubbs has got me thinking about our game, there is so much ridiculous money flying about the English premiership
it kills ours.
Mega amounts getting passed around the clubs then filtering down to the championship/league one then anyone with a little bit of success gets snapped up.
I'm not just talking about managers but players also, how many players have done a runner with the slightest interest? cant blame them though with the money they can get but its getting a tad boring, take away the tv money and the self proclaimed {best league in the world} would be on its knees.
2014 Europa league winners Seville 2014 champions league winners Real Madrid
2015 Europa league winners Seville 2015 champions league winners Barcelona
2016 Europa league winners Seville 2016 champions league winners Real Madrid......... best league my arse.

Best in terms of how competitive it is. More meaningful games.
Any of the EPL will struggle technically against Barca and Real though.

It's along way from being the most technical league in the world but is undoubtably one if not the most exciting league

Will be interesting to see how England get on in France this summer. In recent years, it's been looking like the English Premiership has been killing English football. This squad is threatening to buck that trend, so perhaps the English game is getting its act back together in bringing through talent. Not before time, if so. It's been shameful how poor the talent pool has been over the last ten years or so, given how much money is in the game.

Scottish football is killing Scottish football.
We need people with a passion for our game leading it from the top instead of our current set of morons.
I've seen some brilliant football this season, quality stuff at times, very entertaining games and events and that's just in the second tier.
The Scottish Cup final was a perfect example - a magnificent match, both sets of players were a credit to their clubs and played out a really good game. A wee bit of over-exuberance at the end and what is the dominant story over the next few weeks? Crowd trouble and rioting which I'm sure will be proven in due course to have been hugely hyped. Regan appearing on TV to appease the hun hordes. Ridiculous and disgraceful at a time when he should have been bigging up the positives of the occasion.
That darts fellae had the right idea.
Sitting back and pissing and moaning that we don't have the money the English league has is going to get us nowhere - it's got us nowhere up until now.
Sky give the English league a lot of money and nobody wants to give us anything like as much - that's not going to change, deal with it.
Manager who has failed to get promoted in successive seasons gets a new job. That's the storyline here and it's no reason get all inward looking.
We've got a league to win.

The best marketed league in the world yes but nowhere near the best league.
Have taken in many games over the last few years (Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea, Sunderland, Arsenal, Bolton, Spurs) the product is really quite poor yet like most well marketed things it looks great, the camera angles and the commentary make it look way way better than what it is. And the myth that it is the best league is repeated so often that it becomes believable. The reality is something very different.

Sky, in English football, have a clear remit. Big up EVERY GAME, no matter how crap. 0-0, it's been a battle, nip and tuck, or in fact just pure pish.

Nothing kills football except negative thinking. If there is so much money in EPL it ain't helping the championship clubs who are mostly up to their ears in debt trying to reach their holy EPL grail! We do ourselves down in Scotland.we have great attendances for the size of country and I would rather watch an exciting game here than a lot of the sterile boring televised EPL matches I have seen. Most of the cash is going to cherry picking top players from abroad, some are worth watching, many not. Why do we not just enjoy what we have here?

Ronaldo and Bale (last 2 especially) tore up English football and Messi is the best player to have ever lived and will never leave as he's a god at Barca - but would easily destroy teams in England.

But the money is also a fact of life. As a club, we've got to try and benefit more from that.
EDIT: Spanish football is clearly superior, as results have shown.

English football isn't killing Scottish football, sadly money talks and that's the way it is.
What kills the game here is two Glasgow clubs holding the duopoly on the park and off it. That's where all the money and hence the success goes. Who's going to be champions this year? Thellick? The Orcs? Maybe Thellick? The Orcs again? Yawn. How predictable. They have the power over the SFA and the media and unless that is broken nothing will change. It's not like that in England.

The top Spanish clubs - Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid - are very good indeed and have high technical standards. Beyond those three the quality is mixed. The likes of Valencia, Villareal, Malaga, etc. are no great shakes.
OK Sevilla have won the Europa League three times but they were outclassed by Manchester City in the Group stages of the Champions League. They beat a mid-table Liverpool in the Europa League final.
The matches are often very one-sided. It isn't very competitive at all beyond the top three. The attendances are poor with only the top seven clubs average more than 25,000. Clubs are to be fined next season if they do not fill the seats visible on TV.
That hardly sounds like the best League in the world.
The problem is that the TV rights give most of the money to Real Madrid and Barcelona. The English Premier League distributes cash much more evenly and is a more competitive league as a result.
