When Hibs won the cup in 1902

The penalty box as such did not exist. A line ran across the pitch 12 yards out from touch line to touch line. There was no penalty spot and a penalty could be taken anywhere along the line. The six yard box was a semi circle. The more familiar look of today was changed the following season with the D added to the penalty box only in the late 1930s.

In other news the first Ibrox disaster occurred a few weeks before the cup final when a stand partially collapsed killing 25 people and injuring over 500 at the Scotland England game. Our final was originally supposed to be played at Ibrox but was then switched to Celtic after the disaster, which effectively made it an away game considering it was Celtic we were playing.

    The Boer war ended.

A Brooklyn toymaker called his toy bear Teddybear after President Teddy Roosevelt

In boxing a fight between Scott Nelson and Charles Williams produced 47 knock downs (a record not surprisingly)

Our counterpart cup winners in England were Sheffield United.

There was a blue moon in 1902 and theres another due this Saturday

It has to be an omen, We only win the cup once in a blue moon.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Do they not happen quite frequently?

Is a blue moon the second of 2 full moons in a calendar month, with a lunar cycle being 28 days. So whenever there is a full moon in the first 2 days of the month (15/1 chance) it's guaranteed... could have totally made that up right enough!
    Mon the Hibs.

A blue moon is an additional full moon in a 3 month period (so 4 full moons rather than just 3) generally happens every 2 or 3 years, next one is due in May 2019

Buffalo Bill was in Edinburgh with his wild west show that year.

Unfortunately Sitting Bull had died by then and was unable to come along.

Funny you should talk about omens...I've looked at the clock at least half a dozen times or so over the last week and every time it's been exactly 19:02. I **** you not.

That said, I often look at the clock randomly but this many times, randomly, over the last week.

    Its gonna happen

Ok I'll go for that because that makes 14, 1 for The newest team in Scotland and 4 for The greatest team in Scotland. Well it is Newcomer v Hibernian.

    If only

None of this will influence tomorrow's results. It just builds our hopes up.

I have absolutely no high hopes, it's just a bit of fun. If you didn't laugh as a Hibee you would be looking to chuck yourself of a high building most of the time

If Queen Victoria had lived until April 1902 she would have been on the throne 64 years. Our current Queen has been on the throne for..........................yes you've guessed right 64 years.

The cup is in the bag.

How do you know that? Can you prove it? Do you have any evidence to back that statement up other than conjecture? Source?

    Exactly.

I'd wager regardless of the result, you'll find something to moan about though
