How to Win the Scottish Championship 2016/17 (can't believe I'm typing this)

    How to win the league:

    GK.

    RB. CB. CB. LB.

    RM. CM. CM. LM.

    ST. ST.

Fullbacks as full backs, let the wingers burst forward with fullbacks staying back to give them the freedom to do so.

Strikers: little & large combo. 1 Target man, 1 off-the-shoulder, creative, fast type.

Central midfielders: both box-to-box. Defence & attack.

    Wingers must be fast.

Keep it simple in the backwaters. Objective is to get back up. Scoring goals and pressuring teams will get us that. Ponderous, "passing" football hasn't (twice!).

We have a bigger budget, better players and better facilities. There really is no excuse for anything less.

Sure once Stubbs is away we will get some sort of excuse from the usual suspects about rebuilding, it's a hard league, never expected to win with X team in the league.

We can all see what it takes to beat teams here and slow total football isn't it, give teams time to get back in numbers and forget breaking them down.

Only way to win it is to fill half the team with braun and physicality - it's the league it is and we need plan A,B and C. Teams defend in numbers and you need a route 1 approach in many games away from home. Hibs play football, a lost art in a league of anti football.

To be honest, that's how to do well in Scottish football full stop. The quality of the players isn't the problem for a change but we've been using them all wrong and the pass-pass-pass-pass-fall asleep ethos is just not what's needed.

Phone GJP every 5 mins asking for him back. Get him to get Sauzee back to see the fans. It's a start.

100%. I have found Stubbs' attitude towards the league contemptuous, arrogant and patronising. That's why he hasn't won it. The man's a fool.

Last season could be forgiven by naïveté. This season it's been unabashed arrogance, and that is unforgivable.

Git two wingers and pure run and Ping Baws in the boax eh it's what iverywun else does harts dun it and the stickies how kin we no eh..

    Easy as that aye?

Rangers have wide players but they don't just whip balls into the box. It's not as simple as that.

Gaurantees absolutely nothing tbh, no idea why folk think wingers and hoofball is some kind of secret cheat code for this league.

It's as simple as that when you have a good squad of players at this level already, have a bigger budget and better facilities than the rest of the league. We have all the complicated stuff - all we need is the basic stuff that Stubbs has neglected to address.

When was the last genuine winger you saw at Hibs ? Genuinely want to know ?

Tanner ba' wingers beat men, draw defenders and get crosses into the box - and when did we have a right hard bar steward forward who headed walls to strengthen neck muscles ? Because quite simply, finesse and technique are superb to have, but in football, you need what I've described if it's 0-0, 2-2, and you need a clincher !

    Who is mentioning hoofball??

There are shades of grey here. Football isn't just tiki taka at one end then "Stoke under Pulis" at the other with nothing in between.

Dundee United looking good against Kilmarnock, no doubt they'll be more organised than us come August.

Boyle is a winger so yeah, probably him.

Boyle might be a winger but is he a good one? Personally I don't understand why people rate him, he loses possession nearly every time he gets the ball. Maybe it's just because we've been starved of having a good winger for so long that people are clutching at straws.

Played at wing back, midfield - never asked to hug that touch line.

We've not had wingers in decades mate much to my angst. And I love Boyle and his energy.

Bollocks. They'll be in the same position as we were at the start of last season, a complete overhaul.

Get in a bunch of hammer throwers on same wages as Falkirk, use remaining funds to pay off the referees and watch our 'luck' change over night. The Huns title and the PO games prove that it's the officials who are the king makers in Scottish football.

Ivan was probably the closest we've had to a proper winger, in recent times. And Mixu was the last (capable) brute we've had up front, in my mind. Both in their prime would tear this league up and are exactly what we're missing, currently.

Simple play with width and pace the same way the last 2 winners of the league done.

The wide men dont have to be wingers, they need to be comfortable on the ball with a bit of pace who can also deliver a ball that beats the first man.

We also need to have forwards who will burst a gut to get into positions for those deliveries.

We dont stretch teams nearly enough, and opposition players will always tell you they'd prefer to play against teams facing them rather than on the turn.

Tippy tappy football is fine if its varied with width and pace, width and pace with a delivery is what we've not had in years.

Thats the most idiotic thing someone's said on here, the Huns won the league because they were better/more consistent than us. Not the officials fault.

Nullify Tavernier and Wallace and we will have a real chance
