    Cathkin Park

Good to see a few Hibs fans making the pilgrimage to the site of our first Scottish Cup in 1887. If you have not already done so, would highly recommend a visit in a months time...

Potential investment into Third Lanark/Cathkin would see it refurbed and into Lowland League.

Might do it myself in May!

Its the old Hampden Park before Queens Park moved to the current site. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathkin_Park

Wikipedia claims a maximum capacity of 50,000. Not sure what the actual record attendance was at Cathkin.

I was there to watch Hibs and THE MIGHTY JOE BAKER in the Scottish cup, I'm not sure but I think it was 58/59. We got to the final after 2 games against rangers in the semi only to get beaten 1-0 by Clyde. A deflected goal of John Baxters knee, they nicknamed him Stanley Baxter after that.

Didn't go today but been there many times. Definitely worth a visit. Very poignant standing on the terraces with the old crash barriers. The perimeter pitch wall is in place as is the terracing for half the ground.

10 minute walk from the North stand, really close.

I was hoping to get there today but the usual queue on the M74 to get the bus parked put paid to that. Maybe the 21st.....
