Cliff mentioned it during the Alloa game that the club were checking with UEFA as they were under the impression that Championship games would be cool to broadcast as it's not 'premier competition'. Seems it is

UEFA spoiling Hibs TV once more - Morton game audio only for overseas

That's poor. I was under the impression that a game could be broadcast if it was re-scheduled. As this game has been re-scheduled I can't see why not.
From what I gather, the derby could not be shown because it was a replay. Had it been postponed and re'arranged then that would have been ok. Technically, the Morton game was postponed first time round, so I can't see UEFA's reasoning here. I would show it.

Hibs shouldn't even be asking permission. Show it then let's just see the publicity we get when the UEFA billionaires fine/sue a Scottish second tier team.

Clearly, it is absolutely ridiculous whatever way one looks at it.

As it's a rearranged game there's nothing to stop us showing it, even to UK fans. Nothing to do with UEFA.

Surely the ban can only be enforced if the game is being "broadcasted" in European countries. The rest of the world don't stop showing a football game because the champions league is on.
Any Subscriber living outwith Europe should still be able to watch the match on Hibs TV .

How will UEFA ever know? They will be watching the Champions League, just like they appear to expect anyone and everyone who is interested in football.

Or maybe Alba just did what Hibs and indeed the "main" BBC should have the baws to do and just flick the proverbial vickies at UEFA, show it and then see if anyone notices. Which they almost certainly won't.

Hibs should fine UEFA for thinking they even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as the single greatest football club on the planet.

Charlie Richmond made the point on OTB on Saturday. Rearranging is not the principal reason. The original game also has to have been postponed. Replays are arranged.....

This rule aims to force the majority of football fans throughout Europe to watch the Champions League, which says a lot about the entertainment it can offer at times. This is ridiculous and something that needs to be changed, even if only for nations who are not competing in the specified CL round. Only really interested in the Champions League when it gets to the semi's personally.

That's a joke, once again the most over rated competition in the world dictates everyone else's schedule. No one gives a **** about CL football it's died a death and should be binned for something new.

Up Periscope.
Anyone going to the match with a well-charged smartphone and enough data in their package to give us ripped-off overseas Hibs TV subscribers a look-in?
PS Irvine Welsh was right the other day at the end of the Famous Five documentary. Pro fitba' today is the epitome of monopoly capitalism.

At least the audio would appear to be available. I was listening to the build up and pre-match interviews In Tenerife last week for the replay, when at 7.45pm on the dot,we got a prerecorded message broadcast on 810mw: for rights reasons, we are unable to continue with this broadcast!
That's all I needed to hear at that stage. B****s!
