    Hibernian History Day 126

    Season 2000-01

    Hibs introduced a new club crest which encompasses a number of components which many fans had been requesting for a number of years: a Harp, a Ship and a Castle.

    22nd October, Hibs played Hearts in the league. Andy Kirk opened the scoring for the visitors on 5 minutes, Hibs waited until the 43 minute before they started their scoring spree with a Mixu Paatelainen hat-trick and David Zitelli, John O’Neil and Russell Latapy scoring one each before Hearts’ Colin Cameron got a consolation goal on the 90th minute. Hibs running out 6-2 winners.

    2nd January, Hibs beat Dundee 3-0 in the final game before the continuation of the redevelopment of Easter Road recommences with the demolition of the old main stand and the removal of the famous Easter Road pitch slope.

    May, Hibs finished the league in third place behind Celtic and Rangers, and qualify again for the UEFA cup.

    26th May, Hibs faced Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final. Celtic won 3-0

    June, McLeish signed Equadorian international defender Ulises Hernán de la Cruz Bernardo for a club record fee of £750,000

    Considering I can think of a six, a five, a four and scoring three several times, almost all pre-winter break, we must've averaged under a goal a game for most of that season to ONLY score fifty-seven?
