    Season 1961-62

November, Hugh Shaw resigned as manger. Although McMichael managed Hibs for longer, Shaw was manger for nearly 14 years and in that time, Hibs played 632 competitive games, winning 324, losing 204 and drawing 104. During his time they scored 1,501 competitive goals and conceded 1,052. In all games his Hibs teams scored 1,847 goals.

November, Hibs lost 4-0 to Red Star Belgrade in Second round of Fairs Cup.

25th November, Walter Galbraith was appointed manager. Bobby Brown and Jock Stein were first choices. Brown did not want the job and Dunfermline would not allow Stein to move.

Galbraith’s first signing was Gerry Baker from Manchester City.

This is the season I started going as a lively 6 year old. Lifted over at the turnstyles and climbed the huge old east terrace stairs, what a magnificent sight greeted my eyes.
    Memories!!!!
