    Hibernian History Day 30

    Season 1904-05

15th August, after finishing 10th in the league Phil Kelso resigned as manager and Dan McMichael took over again. (Kelso became manager of Woolwich Arsenal; he was there for four seasons before becoming Fulham’s manager for 15 years after that).

Hibs attempt to move to a new 50,000 stadia at Piershill was thwarted when the North British Railway obtained a court order preventing the development.

11th February, Hibs lost 2-1 to St Bernards in the semi-final of the East of Scotland Shield, but Hibs appealed the fielding of an illegible player, the replay ended in a 1-1 draw, Hibs eventually beat the Saints 3-1.

22nd April, after two draws, Hibs overcome Hearts in the final of the East of Scotland Shield 1-0 with
    William Harrower scoring the winner.

A wee bit more to that story in that the development was well under way and nearing completion when the council and NBR put out a compulsory order out on a corner of the land the new stadium was on. Hibs had to abandon the move. NBR never built anything on the land at all.
