I was at the Rendezvous yesterday afternoon, not because its great, its good and we like it!

We were the only folk in, a normally busy wee place, how sad.

20% discount if you book online.
I like that Chinese. Used to be my go-to takeaway when I lived at that side of town. Only visited the actual restaurant once which was also nice!
    Mon the Hibs.

If it is anything like how a butcher makes a scotch pie then you will find everything from the chip shop floor 😉
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I’ve not been since just before lockdown in March but it was very good when I went then.

The sticky toffee pudding sundae is ridiculous.

I can't vouch for the one in Edinburgh but I've eaten at a couple in London and they're out of this world! One of the best steaks I've eaten in the UK, without a doubt.

Speaking of steaks, can anyone explain to me how The Champany can possibly be open?! They're Linlithgow (West Lothian) but are apparently able to open (my in-laws are going on Thursdsay!).

Edit: Apparently, they sit in Falkirk Council area!

I went in London before going to a Spurs game at Wembley when they were playing there. I totally messed up my timing and had to ask for and pay the bill before my steak even came. Was walking out the restaurant with my mouth still full

I went to the one in Seven Dials in London and in honestly it didn't live up to expectations. It's very expensive and I just don't think their steaks justified the additional prices from any other decent steakhouse.

Chophouse Leith is the best steakhouse in Edinburgh for me.

Visited La Casa on Leith Walk on Saturday. Food was excellent. Went for the set tapas menu for 2 at £20pp, it could’ve fed 4. Criminal amount of food wasted. Staff were very good and Covid compliance excellent.

Farcical that it had to close at 6pm. Our ‘dinner’ booking was 1630, latest possible and also a shame we couldn’t enjoy a bottle of wine which probably resulted in the bill being at least £20 less than it would’ve been.

    Definitely return.

I also ended up in Hawksmoor that Sunday.

The two courses for £20 deal is superb.

Was just in Noks Kitchen at the Castle. Was hoping it would be as good as the Stockbridge one is, it was even better. The food was absolutely brilliant.

Had a take away from there, it was superb.

Also tried El Paso on Dundas Street recently, was very nice. Shame to see it as quiet.

I have mixed feelings about this as my two go-to Thai restaurants were Noks and Thai Orchid (which was what was in the Noks at the Castle unit)

I was wondering where by the castle they were!

I like Noks but disappointed if that means Thai Orchid is gone as they were also good!

Not really restaurants but visited a couple of pubs recently.

Sunday lunch in Woodland Creatures was superb. Melt in the mouth rib of beef and all the trimmings.
Then today I visited One Cannonmills. Excellent value and interesting menu.
Both venues set up really well for Covid mitigation and great to see them both relatively busy. Definitely return to both.

Thai Orchid was my favourite. Heard it went downhill towards the end (hadn't been so can't say for sure).

Went to pera tonight, turkish place for elm row. Very good, would recommend. Shame for the guy, seems like he's been hammered with covid and tram works.

Had a fish supper from The Chippy by Spencer today.

Probably the best fish supper in Edinburgh. Very, very good and imo better than Berties and the Fishmarket which I also think are very good.
