Why do you object to them pronouncing it correctly?

Do you pronounce it "jai"? Not quite a pet peeve but a bit annoying. Same as people who say H as "haitch".

Thought that was how west of Scotland folk pronounced those letters?

I’m with you personally, not a fan of those ways of saying them

Must admit I say Jai rather than Jay.. sure why to be honest, I assume thats how it was taught in school. Might try and unteach myself on that habit now.

With you on Haitch rather than Aitch tho...that is a touch annoying.

Haitch is just wrong, it's itch when i want to annoy the wife. I can remember the teacher correcting for trying to say haitch but never for jai.

Those wheels don’t look after themselves.

You want a nice surface underneath them, some sort of tarmac IMO.

I will be round in the morning, give you a quote.

Not seen people sitting, but being unable to walk past a busy bus stop easily because people are standing outside it rather than in is annoying.

In French, J is pronounced jee and G is pronounced jay. It keeps me on my toes when spelling stuff (email adresses, etc.) over the phone.

Similarly in German they say seven and forty for 47. Even though I'm fluent in German I still have to stop and think

In German ie is pronounced ee and ei is pronounced eye. Can make the difference between wanting to shoot or have a dump.

When I went to school in Edinburgh we learnt the alphabet by saying it out loud every day until we got it right. It was most definitely jai.

The Edinburgh conundrum: which school did you go to?

The french also sat down one day and assigned everything a gender. Why?

French is a Latin language. Latin has 3 genders, the French just inherited it. The Germans on the other hand......

At least they only went with 2 genders. As mentioned above, do you know how many different words in German there for either "the" or "a" . I've given up trying to learn them so at least there's a bit of room in my brain for vocabulary.

Then there's Polish, which I don't speak a word of but I'm lead to believe there's about 8 different verb cases per verb.

    Absolutely radge.
