Talking of hotels, ones that have showers that are too "cool" or "design-y" to indulge the paying guest in some clear red/blue indicator of which way is hot and which way is cold, leaving you to play the "oooh ya *******" game when you either scald or freeze your nads inadvertently.

Also, in general, countries where the cold water doesn't get properly cold, especially in summer when it's just what's needed.
We have a winner!! Lukewarm water when all you want is a cold shower is just one of the most anti climatic things out there.

Ohhh that's a beauty, Cuba was really bad for that. Humidity was unbearable and just when you want an ice cold shower it was at best lukewarm.

A cycle hire point has emerged along our street. I don't suppose I mind in theory but nobody locally received any warning.

Don't they need planning permission or something for what is essentially a profit-making enterprise?

The regulations must have been relaxed somewhat as I've complained to the council about work going on local to me which I thought needed neighbour consultation first. But was told that there were notifications posted in the local press, some free paper I don't get, and street notices posted. So if you don't see any of the "notices" you are consenting to the development without knowing about it. A get out for the council and the developer.

There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Folk that group people together and treat them all the same. E.g football fans are animals or all cyclists go through red lights.

I think these cycle hire points are nothing more than branded mats on the ground. It's not like the fixed bike stations elsewhere in town.
Unsure if planning is required but they're little more preferred dumping grounds for these Just Eat bikes that self lock.

Expect to see bikes thrown over your hedge soon

The use of “much”, e.g. “angry much?”

When did that start? Is it an Americanism?

So I had assumed. It wouldn't have been too much to ask for them to leaflet the few dwellings that overlook the thing, surely?
I suppose I should complain to my local councillor. He happens to be the Provost though so he'll be too busy hobnobbing with the great and good.

You should really use a different part of your body to check the water temperature. ;-)

I think the physics is similar. I used to cold shower before going to work in hot weather and was already sweating before I got dressed again. Whilst talking to a colleague from Tenerife this subject come up and she advised me to try having a hot shower instead and it works a treat. I think it has to do with the hot water widening the capillaries enabling more efficient transfer of heat from the body.

Folk who abandon trolleys in car parks, often taking up valuable spaces and occasionally damaging parked cars. Selfish, lazy barstewards.

Oh yes - I was walking into Tesco last weekend and the lazy ******* leaves it to roll into a car 2 down from them. I said that’s going to hit the car (and stopped it in time) and she goes “sorry”. Not my car hen but ffs put your trolley back - literally 15 yards from where she dumped it.

Who would be the first to go off on one when they return to their car to find it damaged by a trolley

Definitely. Pork chops discarded beside the tea bags in Tesco the other day....it takes all of 10 whole seconds to walk to the fridge FFS!

Must cost plenty every week with the amount of stuff dumped in other parts of the shop.

I daresay the biology behind it is sound, but it sounds horrible
