Another Wonderful Gesture From A Hibby & The Club

"From the charity ticket donations before Saturday's game to the fantastic reception the players received at the full time whistle our supporters have done us proud recently, and we wanted to share another lovely story of kindness from one of our supporters

Following the Alloa game last month Jimmy Caskie, a 77 year old season ticket holder, passed envelopes to parents either side of his season ticket seats, containing money to be spent on their kids at the Hibernian Clubstore. Jimmy grew up a Hibee after his dad played for the Club during WW2, and wanted to do his bit to encourage the next generation of Hibs supporters.

We were contacted by one of the parents to tell us the story, and wanted to recognise the gesture with a little act of kindness of our own.

Jimmy found a letter at his seat on Saturday from Leeann Dempster, inviting him round to our Hibernian Hospitality after the game. Jimmy enjoyed a two course meal with Club Director Frank Dougan, and had the chance to meet some of the former players who were in attendance at the match.

Thanks again to Jimmy for his wonderful gesture, it makes you proud to be a Hibee."

That gesture by Leeane has basically cost the club nothing, but will receive more plaudits than a team of PR folks could drum up in a month.

    That is wonderful.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

What a terrific gesture that is by Mr Caskie, who sounds like a great guy; and well done Hibs for recognising his generosity.
