    Crazy cup final scheduling.

Assuming Falkirk don't make the playoffs which seems likely they will have 28 days between competitive matches compared to Invernesses 7 days.

If we had reached final of playoffs and Scottish cup we know the disruption this would have caused.

What is the solution to this crazy scheduling of fixtures?

Not entirely sure, however it would've been the same if Reading reached the FA Cup final at the weekend there. Championship finished 2nd May with the FA Cup final being the same weekend as the Scottish...

Larger top division with two down automatically. Playoff to only to include clubs from the lower league?

We have an SFPL now then the co-ordination on when all competitions end should be a lot better. Getting the split in the top league after two rounds means they have far more time to plan around contingency. Not knowing where you team will be playing the week after next and whether you'll get 19 home games on your season tickets farcical.
The top league playing more midweek games to avoid a fixtures pile up due to snow, taking a week off because we want to play a game in the States, actually progressing in Europe means you shouldn't get the situation where Rangers were forced to play 8 games in 21 days. They shout now about the fact they were forced to but conveniently forget they cancelled/moved games earlier to help them in the UEFA Cup.
Given we have play offs and yet again a Championship Team in the cup final the chances of that happening and that team also being in the play off has to be planned for. Bring the end of the top league forward means there's more time for the play-off. The final game in the PO is after the Cup Final so bring that cup game forward and get it out the way.
Teams like Aberdeen would then get a break rather than being involved to mid May and probably kicking off in Europe 6 weeks later. This allows these teams to get a rest/holiday in before reporting back for the pre season.

We could always have less and bigger leagues of course and not need play-offs.....
