Benni McCarthy - Coach

There an interview with him on Hibs.tv on the Facebook page. From what I see he is doing his coaching badges and happened to be in Edinburgh and was invited along. Good striker back in the day so if he can teach our strikers a thing or two that would be fantastic!

Loved the interview with him. Seems to know a lot about the club and the derbies, which surprised me a little bit because in these situations you usually find they know the bare minimum but he seems to have really either researched it or kept up to date with it while living here. Welcome to Hibs Benni, for however long that may be!

We could offer him a player/coaching deal until end of the season.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that Alan Shearer did his coaching badges at ER, maybe somebody could confirm that?

He was working at Celtc training their strikers last season while doing his badges. As others have said already, he stays in Edinburgh with his missus.
I met him pretty regularly through work last year, he's a genuinely nice guy who always stopped to chat about football anytime I saw him.
I'm glad he took my advice to get himself to a decent team in green and white

Give his interview a watch on Hibs TV. Comes across very well. Instantly likeable character and good knowledge of the game! Hope he is giving Jason and the other strikers some tips ahead of Sunday

I really like him, he's a winner and a really positive character. Hope that if he's as good as a coach as he can be that he'll commit longer term to our backroom staff.

Great interview, what a positive influence to have at the club, another successful former player for the squad to learn from.

Just watched the interview with Benni McCarthy. I must say he comes across very well, good knowledge of the game, and speaks well of the club.
He would fit in very well at Hibs I would think, and maybe if not at present, then hopefully in the future. A guy that has done what he has could
offer a helluva lot to our club, and the players as a whole.
Good to have him onboard anyway, can only be of benefit...

Benni's presence can give the lads a boost going into the derby. Very cool, calm guy to be around and can really help the strikers on preparing for such a big game.

Funny bit in the video when he's stretching a bit and Liam Craig just walks away. Heh.
Welcome to Hibs Benni :)
