I know I’ve spoken about it before, but 24 Hours in Police Custody is IMO one of the best shows on TV. It never shies away from difficult themes and I’m gripped to every episode. Disclaimer, I’m studying for a degree in Criminology and Law so clearly this is my kind of show, but there are loads of programs that get nowhere near the heart of the crime like this one does.

I've not watched the new series yet, had it in my head that she was long gone.

I've been binge-watching some crime documentaries on Netflix lately - watched Catching Killers over the weekend and tonight found myself watching American Murder: The Family Next Door - an unflinching documentary looking at the Watts family 'annihilation', where Chris Watts murdered his pregnant wife, 3 and 4 year old daughters and tried to cover it up. Safe to say I went into my daughter's room after I'd finished watching it, gave her a kiss as she slept and watched her for a while. Genuinely felt sad and unbelievably angry seeing the story unfold.

Watched the first episode of the new Dexter revival tonight too, 'New Blood'. I'll confess I was a big Dexter fan (though I hated how it ended) and was a little unsure about what to expect. I don't like how they're using Jennifer Connolly's character, but I actually really enjoyed it. The switch that Michael C Hall has to his 'dark passenger' is incredible.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Succession is the best tv I’ve watched in many a year. Nicholas Braun and Kieran Culkin are just incredible

A bit of a guilty pleasure, but I tend to watch Alles Klara when I'm down in the dumps.

Not exactly Sherlock Holmes level of criminal investigations but it's light hearted and the scenery is really nice.

A brilliant cast all round. You never know whether to feel sorry for them or not. Jeremy Strong is also superb as Kendell. Logan is a bully, but he's a Hibby so maybe he's alright. 😉

A great start to a Monday night double bill on Sky Atlantic. Succession followed by Dexter New Blood. 👍

I enjoyed it, good TV but I think it's pushing it a bit to describe it as superb.

Most German TV just annoys the **** out of me. The good stuff they do is excellent, but there's a lot of ***** to trawl through to find it. My biggest gripe is the acting, it would appear that German drama schools don't differentiate between stage and screen acting, it all just feels like theatre.

    I know what you mean.

I think you appreciate British TV a lot more when you've lived away from the UK for a while, especially a lot of the BBC output.

TV is one of the things the UK excels at.

The Outlaws. Full series (6 eps) on iplayer. Really good cast, a lot of proper laugh out loud one liners, bit far fetched but I really enjoyed it.

Just finished S3 of Narcos: Mexico. One of the best foreign shows out there I would say.

Midnight Mass on Netflix seemed pretty brilliant to me.

On the face of it a bit of a vampire thriller but also so much more: Some very cerebral musings on religion, death and the very meaning of life within our cosmos. I’m honestly not joking.

I hadn’t heard of it until Ricky Gervais started going on about it. But I’m a fan of Ricky and he was right. A couple of the speeches within nailed the human existence to me. I’m maybe being pretentious, haha.
