Oh mate, you've got so much to come. I'm actually jealous you're watching it for the first time.

1 - Resident Alien on Sky/Now TV - found the first two episodes really funny, should appeal if you have a dark sense of humour

    2 - Wandavision - just finished watching episode 5 and HOLY F***ING S*** ON A STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anybody who is a fan of Marvel movies but was put off by the first three episodes i strongly recommend you binge them and then watch episodes 4 & 5 - It's amazeballs. Cannot wait to see where it goes from here.
We stuck with Wandavision after really not thinking much of the day episode and it’s definitely a grower!

Been watching Sharp Objects with Amy Adams recently. It's a bit up its own arse at times but decent acting and story.

I decided to watch Richard Hammonds new show on Prime last night. I think it’s called the Great Escapists. It’s without doubt the worst thing I’ve ever watched, it’s chronically bad.

I gave it a try hoping it would be more realistic and a bit like myth busters as it has the guy from that show. Didn’t make it past 10 minutes, utter nonsense and a poor attempt to simply copy the top gear style formula with two guys with no chemistry.

If It's A Sin doesn't win any awards this year then there's something wrong.

Best show i've seen for a long time.

The actor who plays Colin will go on to big things I feel. Terrific actor.

    His story is heart-breaking.

I mentioned dot earlier on in the thread and I couldn't stop thinking about the show for days afterwards. I think that was the point though. Reading all the real life stories that inspired the writing only makes it more poignant.

I think I managed 20 minutes. Apparently the two of them are best mates, you’d never guess it from watching them together. Woeful television.

Finished this tonight, it certainly gets better with each episode and has a great ending. Don't turn off when the credits roll, there's a wee bit to see 😲

I haven't started it yet but I wouldn't be surprised. Most French crime series are pretty awful and any that I like tend to get pulled after 1 season. British & Scandinavian series were beating them hands down and now with the quality of stuff that the likes of Netflix & Amazon are producing, I honestly think they the main French channels have given up.

Lupin's a Netflix original and you have to give them there due for making stuff in different countries instead of staying safe in the states or UK doing only English language stuff.
You might know the answer here

I'm looking for the name of a French series that I watched a few years back. Detective, main character is female. Set in a coastal town, maybe Calais or Deauville.... or maybe Biarritz area . The opening titles are her walking along a beach.

I remember really enjoying it in between series of Engrenages.

    Help?

Edit.... think it might be les Temoins. If it is, there was only 2 series, which is a shame.

Just watched the Netflix documentary on the crack epidemic of the 80’s in America. Absolutely heartbreaking to watch, anyone that watched 13th and was angered by it should watch this, it goes into much more detail of some of the issues raised in 13th. It’s hard to believe that these things were allowed to happen in our lifetimes.

I just looked it and the opening credits are as you described. I never watched it, meaning it was probably scheduled on a night when I had something on.

I've started watching The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel. It's an intriguing story that I've read a fair bit about.

The documentary is annoying me already though. It's typical Netflix, half an episode to say something that could be said in 3 sentences. A whole section dedicated to a couple giving a minute by minute guide to their LA holiday when all that really needed said was the area around the hotel was a bit dodgy because of local government policies.

I'll stick with it for now but I'm not hopeful.

Felt the same way. 4 episodes to tell a story that could be done in 1.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

We’re 4 episodes in to it and it’s superb. It’s so well written and acted, it must have been a horrific time.

The Internet sleuth grief junkies are the worst. 'Oh I felt like I had lost my sister'. Making pilgrimages to the hotel to poke about and indulge their pretensions.

Utter weirdos feeding off another families tragedy.

I see Dexter is coming back for a new series, hopefully ties up a few loose ends after the hugely iffy ending to the last one.

The guy who said he needed to see her grave to get ‘closure’ was unhinged.

As it turns out, the final series of Engrenages was superb. The whole run of 8 seasons is up there with my favourites ever.

Make your own picks but, there's an abundance of Nordic Noir on All4, any I've watched have been very decent.
