Finished Season 1 of Westworld earlier this evening, excellent stuff!

Halfway through ‘The Stranger’ on Netflix.
Strong cast, excellent writing and (for me anyway) perfectly paced with few, if any flaws. A proper twisty-turny thriller offering pure escapism. Best in this genre I’ve seen in a long time.
Yep. Got 2 more episodes to go. Brilliant.

    What's everyone's "go to" TV?

When there's nothing much on or I need a wee lift I'll always stick on an episode of Black Books or Alan Partridge.
    Father Ted.

Seen all the episodes countless times but can still watch any of them at any time and find it funny.

    Best sitcom of all time.

First time I watched father Ted I did not get it, thought it was utter *****.

Several years later I watched an episode and **** me it was hilarious. Brilliant show.

One of my mates has a book of Father Ted scripts in his loo - fantastic cludgie literature.

That was actually the same for me.

Someone I worked with told me to go back and watch it again, I did, and I was hooked.

I remember the first episode I ever watched being the one where Father Jack "died" and I wondered wtf it was all about. It was maybe just a bad episode to watch first.

Still Game, Gavin and Stacey, The Inbetweeners and An Idiot Abroad for me. Usually rotate those 4 if I'm just sticking something on while eating or doing some work in the evening.

Frankie Boyle's tour of Scotland was quite enjoyable tonight. I felt it could have done with being a bit longer though.

The Office (UK) and The IT Crowd are two that I can watch countless times and still laugh at. Would probably chuck Father Ted and The Inbetweeners in there as well.

I watch Family Guy and American Dad most nights, too.

    It is.

The game of charades in the crypt is vintage Ted and Dougal.

Very different when you understand the characters though. I really didn’t get it the first time I watched it.

The Song for Europe episode is the perfect comedy imo.

The latest season of Hip Hop Evolution is well worth a watch. I still rate it as the best music documentary of any genre ...brilliant!

I may check it out, not a massive hip hop fan, I enjoy the old school stuff but not generally a rap fan.

👍 will check it out, it is the same as punk rock back in the day and how the music took hold of a generation. (And acid house)

Has anyone been following The Young/New Pope?

It's as bizarre as it comes, probably more performance art than drama, and I'm really not sure I know what the story is about, but somehow it's utterly compelling.

I keep meaning to watch it but haven't found time yet.

Tentatively related I watched the Two Popes on Netflix. Entertaining enough and Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce are superb but about as historically accurate as Brave heart.

Has The Outsider reached the collective hibs.net psyche yet?

It's a wee bitty scary, but again, unmissable.

Started first three episodes last night, really enjoying it so far, hard to tell what is going on but kind of expect that with Stephen King, looking forward to seeing how it plays out, also agree with it being scary, not the usual jump scenes but the whole suspense of it

I've started to watch The Vietnam War documentary on Netflix. I've seen loads of Vietnam films but never realised fully why it happened.

Cracking series. Some of the footage is horrific mind you. Must have been terrifying for all sides.

    I think you'll enjoy it.

I've been trying to think of a way to describe it, but I'm struggling to verbalise it.

One moment it's a commentary on the Catholic church, or is it?. The next it's a surreal fantasy. It's amusing, it's enigmatic, it's poignant, and it's hugely stylish and cinematic.

I've just finished episode 8/9 of season 2 and it offered me the option to watch episode 9 immediately. It's time for my bed, but I'm looking forward to seeing the finale so much that I'm still in the living room, considering pressing the green button.

I'm actually jealous that you've got it all to come!

Edit: Bed wins. I've got Outsider and the New Pope to look forward to tomorrow.

    It's brilliant all over.

"I hear you're a racist now father?" Is one of the most brilliant line deliveries in tv history.

I've seen the first four episodes and, whilst I'm absolutely loving it, I'm really concerned it's not going to have the sort of closure at the end that I need!
