How good was the finale of S2 of Succession? Top, top drama.
Yeah it was superb. The ending seems kinda predictable in hindsight but wasn’t at the time, had me gripped throughout. Sets things up nicely!

Love it that Greg(ory) played his part in the outcome. And Logan’s proud smile at the end was the perfect sign off.

Anyone been watching Escape at Dannemora?

It's extremely compelling and what a performance from Patricia Arquette.

It's advertised as having 7 episodes so we stayed up late last night to watch 5, 6 and 7 only to find that episode 7 is in 2 parts!

It actually makes sense now that I think about it, but I wish they'd made that clear.

    Recommended viewing, however.

    3 seasons.

First two series were broadcasted on Channel 4 back in 2011. Really don’t know how this past me by! Channel 4 didn’t release a 3rd season. Then the hip-hop rapper Drake got involved and went to Netflix and helped fund for the show to be brought back and here we are.

Finished first two seasons and about to start the 3rd later this evening
Just finished what I thought was season 1 to find out it was actually season 3!! It's badly laid out in Netflix I think.

    According to The Independent:

    Really looking forward to this.

Lots of risk - Scorsese getting the band back together one time too many, Pacino overacting in the way that only Pacino can do.

My understanding is that Scorsese talked Joe Pesci out of retirement and that he has him playing a character who is very understated, which is a complete contrast to so many of his roles. I love when actors get the chance to play against their usual type.

    Has anyone been watching Giri/Haji?

I've just seen the first episode on catch up. It's an intriguing story and the Japanese styling is enjoyable on the eye.

All episodes are available so I'll be binging through the week.

Agree. I’m lucky that I googled it before binging. Would have made same mistake as yourself.

Is that Madeleine McCann documentary series on Netflix an interesting watch or not?

Can I clarify - what exactly is the first series?

This is next on my list.

Start off with the Top Boy Summerhouse series. That’s the first two seasons that were shown on Channel 4 back in 2011. Then start Top Boy which is the most recent season. If you don’t understand the London slang jargon, I’d recommend putting the subtitles on. Other than that, it’s absolutely fantastic!

I've been watching this as well - absolutely outstanding tv.

The early ones were really interesting, where initially the nationalist communities welcomed the British Army's intervention helping them against the NI army. Seeing the wee old ladies taking cakes out to the forces with the benefit of hindsight knowing what was to happen later........

Some of the "unseen footage" was also fascinating. It was interesting to see that Loyalist Rally featuring a very young Sammy Wilson, then seeing him several decades later in the House of Commons being a prominent Unionist speaker as Brexit looms, as well as Martin McGuinness playing about with guns.

It seemed to be a pretty balanced account to me too, which must be difficult on such an emotive subject, especially considering how everyone thinks that the BBC is against them when it comes to Brexit.

    Yes it was very balanced.
The callousness of the killings was brutal and I was surprised they never covered the two soldiers who were caught up beside the Republicans.

Peter Taylor : My journey through the troubles is also a compelling watch. It's also on the I player.

Is anyone else watching The Dublin Murders? I’m really enjoying it. Only downside is I’m caught up and there’s still four episodes to go which are on weekly, for some reason I thought the whole series was available straight away.

Aye, it's been good. I liked Sarah Greene on Ransom, never actually realised she was Irish until I started watching this.

I've still only seen the first episode, but it augurs well that you've watched it all in such a short time.

    Say nowt, please. 😊

The world at war is usually the benchmark for them, World War 2 in colour is on netflix and a good watch

Miami Vice is being repeated on the forces channel(sky181)!

    Doesn’t get much better!

Also Silicon Valley back on Sky Atlantic on Monday.

‘The World at War’ is the daddy, I agree.

Exquisitely narrated by Laurence Olivier - “Dear, dear Larry”

I think it was a bit of a landmark production at the time.

I've got the box set on DVD. There's a German equivalent that usually gets a 24hr showing on TV here around Christmas that is also excellent. I'll try and find it in English.

Anyone watch the programme on the BBC Scotland channel last night about David Robertson (ex Aberdeen and Oldco) managing the first professional team in Kashmir? He’s quite a character and I wouldn’t have recognised him as he looks completely different to his playing days.
