Watched the first two episodes of The Mandalorian. Not particularly a Star Wars fan but thought they were quite good. Only half an hour per episode so an easy watch.
Think I’ve now watched 6 episodes. Still quite good but would have liked a bit more of a running story through the series as feels more like individual episodes that resolve themselves each week.

I’m in the privileged position of not having watched this at all until this week.

Despite knowing it was top TV it just never quite made it onto the starting grid.

But now it has and bashing through the seasons! Season two was toppled today.

Glad to report that its every bit as good as expected and even better I still have 3 seasons to go

It was immense. A near perfect TV episode.

I just finished rewatching Breaking Bad. 2 observations from the last series. Ozymandias as an episode wasn't near perfect, it was perfect. Probably the best stand alone episode of any TV show. Secondly the scene in the final episode after Walt admits the truth and is allowed to say goodbye to his daughter is properly heartbreaking. I think it captures that there is still a tiny shred of humanity in him and his daughter is a perfect metaphor for all the lives destroyed by him.

That's good to know. Despite being in lockdown I've found myself doing other things and now have (I think), 3 or 4 stored up. Looking forward to sitting down tomorrow with a few malts and catching up

It was indeed. That scene with Kim and Lalo though.

What's everyone's thoughts on Sons of Anarchy? Watched the first 5 or 6 episodes and just couldn't get into it. The characters were pretty bland and unrealistic. Quite disappointed as id heard good things about it.

The first season is a bit of a trek, the 2nd and 3rd are brilliant as the characters start to develop. It does get a little silly after season 5 though.

Enjoyed it a lot and go back to it.

It was ok for maybe three seasons up to and including the Henry Rollins season. It kind of lost the plot (for me) like the Mayans (same writers) things just became too far fetched, I guess there's only so much you can do with a biker gang.
Enjoying all the boxsets the channels have put on, shame about the reasons though 😪😷

I loved SoA - have watched it through twice. Seasons 2-6 are the best; 7 is good too, but could have done with being an episode or two shorter.

I had a feeling Ozark series 3 was going to let me down but the first episode was a corker.
I’m 4 episodes in now fantastic tv.

I was a bit like that with Boardwalk Empire. If I’d been watching it myself I would have given up but my other half was enjoying it. By about the third series I thought it was up there with the best tv I’ve watched.

I only watched the first season of BE, I wanted to watch the rest but somehow never did.

While I did/do enjoy the show I think 7 seasons were too much. Think it was a hold over from Kurt Sutter writing The Shield - that was great over all 7.

Its amongst the best box sets I've watched and gets better as the story develops, so I'd recommend you try watching it again ;-)

Just finished it last night. Very good although some of it got a bit far fetched. The guidance counsellor character wasnt particularly believable. And I didn't get what motivates Helens 'client' to act the way he did, when Marty 'goes to KC' (using euphemisms so not to spoiler)

But yes, right up there with the previous two. The kids were particularly strong characters.

I loved The Shield as well but it's a slower build to the main story I think which is probably why 7 seasons didn't seem too much.

'How to Fix a Drug Scandal' on Netflix is pretty decent, a 4 part documentary about 2 chemists in drug testing labs in Massachusetts.

Better Call Saul is absolutely brilliant TV, the last episode was top drawer.

Lost count of the number of times we've watched it. Some fantastic performances, Gary Cherone in particular was brilliant.

Finally got round to watching the 3rd season of Babylon Berlin. Fantastic mixture of a fictional storyline in a historically factual background.

Revolutions on Netflix is pretty good. It’s a documentary series about the series of events over human history that led to modern inventions such as the car, the smartphone and rockets etc. Each invention has a separate episode.

Just finished watching The Nest, how the hell does Shirley Henderson keep getting parts on tv? Terrible actress.

I agree. People love her but she just plays the same character in everything she is in, they are all interchangeable.

There is being typecast and there is just not being very good. I think she is the latter.

Usually late to the party with tv shows. Watched 'The Capture' over the weekend. Was on the BBC last year. Enjoyable programme. Same sort of style as Spooks/Line of Duty/Bodyguard.
