Can't comment on pre-season but would ask with any young keeper we hold back before giving them "the treatment". Every keeper will make mistakes and one I can recall from the cup qualifier but whilst learning their trade stuff happens.

If Combe is brought in as a player/coach, Id be surprised if Perntreou is even considered back up at this point. I imagine he will be the U21 keeper for at least the next year, and called into the first team if needed.
