Gordon Smith's testimonial game. Goals from Turnbull 3, Reilly 2, Smith & Ormond.
Hibs and Rangers both finished that season (1952/53) on 43 points (only 2 points for a win in those days). Rangers got the title on goal average, as it was done in those days. A travesty.

Pretty sure our joint biggest league victory was 11-1 against Hamilton. Ironically it equalled the same scoreline against our previous playoff foes, Airdrie.
I'd settle for 0-1 today though!

My mate found it when clearing a house he bought . Sent it to me . Attendance was 30 k . Man u were champions at the time .there were 5 goals in 29 mins lol man u hit the bar 3 times and hibs hit post twice and bar once . There was two offside goals disallowed ! .three penalties hibs scored 2 and united missed 1 . Also 2 goal line clearances .Sounded like a mental game lol wish it was like that now was also first season when they used white balls .
