Unfortunately contracts will come into play and Cant see us being able to pay off Nelson/ Mcgivern etc. Personally I would only keep Stanton,Thomson and Robertson with Foster and Harris based on their youth.

Mcpake i was unsure of as terry might like his charachter and leadership, also depends who is available
Handling hes on paper as saying he rates and has a bright future, i agree he just needs consistancy and to nail down a position and beef up a bit
OTJ again i was unsure as he was instrumental in his caley team but hasnt got going here
Mcgivern has started pretty much every game under him so unsure if he does rate him or lack of options?

I have this sinking feeling that TB may chicken out of his threat and release only a few.
Just like he said he would play the youngsters if we were crap but never did.
Personally, I think next season will be the same old same old no matter what div.we're in.
I look at each of the past 5 years and see a familiar pattern.

Just as an afterthought, the TelBoy might struggle to keep who he wants/needs given the big black cloud hovering over ER these days.

Though I hope I'm totally wrong.

I don't see any of the out of contract players staying and I don't see us paying off anyone who's still under contract.

I would keep Hanlon Harris Forster Stanton Cummings and Robertson, the rest can leave as far as i am concerned.

Don't know why SH but on Saturday I wanted to punch Williams flush in the puss !!! Can't stick a Hibs player laughing with opponents thru a game - he did it against Hearts too. This weekend with Boyd when 1-0 down.

Maybe I'm a grumpy youknowhat but I want to see anger, desire and utter hatred of our opponent for 90 minutes in games.

Williams - Keep, but he will be leaving.
McGivern - Bye.
Hanlon - Our best defender. Keep.
Nelson - Bye.
McPake - Can't gamble on another season long injury. No new contract.
Harris - Keep.
Robertson - Keep.
Craig - Unsure.
Cairney - Never actually seems to be fit. Bye.
Collins - Bye.
Stevenson -

Jones - Bye.
Maybury - Hopefully we won't need him for cover next season and he can concentrate on being a coach.
Handling - Unsure.
Taiwo - Bye.
Murdoch - Seems to have done all right as a reserve keeper. Keep.
Watmore - Raw talent. Worth a season loan if we have spare cash.
Forster - Despite some glaring errors this season he's young and has proven he can do better. Keep.
Heffernan - Our best striker when he's actually played but getting on a bit. Unsure.
Stanton - Keep.
Haynes - Bye.
Cummings - Keep.
Thomson - Keep.

So in summary, I'd get rid of McGivern, Nelson, McPake, Cairney, Collins, Jones, Maybury, Taiwo and Haynes. Jury's out on Craig, Handling and Heffernan.

Only players I would be sad to see go would be Williams, Hanlon, Forster, Stanton and Thomson. Perhaps Cummings and Harris if they can prove themselves.

The rest are a desperate bunch of players.

Just purely based on the fact we have been very poor and neither have been in the squads despite being in the first team for a while. Would love for them to get a chance as iv heard good things. Just personally can't see it

He has had opportunities to play McPake and hasn't. That should tell you what you need to know

This is the reality. You can wish Nelson, Collins, McGivern etc away but they are under contract and there will not be anyone interested in taking them off our hands unless we pay them off.

I'd keep Craig, he's another John Rankin - would improve away from Hibs but I think it's up to Liam to tell Butcher where his bext position is altho, i'm still not convinced either of them know..

OTJ, again another who was pretty decent at ICT and is probably a decent squad player.

We could do worse than having those 2 in our squad

For me anyone bar Stanton, Harris, Forster and Hanlon is disposable. It has to be that ruthless imo. Some others might stay due to contract situations obviously but players like Craig, Collins, McGivern and Heffernan have to seriously up their game.
