    Messi and Man City

So much for the Financial Fair Play rulings if this is true.......Can't see it happen to be honest.

It would make it a lot more interesting put it that way. Would love to see the wee man prove all those doubters that he is the best on the planet

How does the signing of one player - albeit an expensive one - affect F.F.P. regulations ?

I can se it happen because of F.F.P. regulations in that Barca and Real Madrid need to reduce their overall debt to the German Taxpayers.

Just been fines £50m and had there CL squad reduced to 21 for next season.. So yes 'so much for financial fair play'

This whole 'richest club wins' aspect of European football is getting a bit boring. It's like in FIFA when you sign all the best players. It's fun at first, but gets old fast. When Chelsea started spending big it was somewhat intriguing...but now I'm sort of hoping it all implodes on itself to level the playing field.

But, I'm a slight hypocrit because I'd love it if a billionaire bought a non-old-firm team (not Hearts) just to put an end to Celtics' dominance.

Messi won't leave Barcelona any time soon.

    Its all a farce.

Honestly couldn't give one flying f*** about the EPL, Champions League etc anymore. Completely lost interest in it.

What have German taxpayers got to do with Barca or Real Madrid?

Man City are already in the poo poo with regards to FFP regulations - http://news.sky.com/story/1256043/ma...-finance-rules

Both owe large amounts of money to Spanish banks / the Spanish state, which in turn were bailed out by the Germans?

A story that will sell newspapers but will come to nothing. Messi won't leave Barca for Man City or any other club.

Yes I'm sure Messi's dreams are haunted by those armchair fans who reckon he's nothing until he's proved himself in the Best League In The World TM

Plastic club? Messi's plastic would disagree that City are nothing compared to Barca.

    Move with the times.

Possibly but only after the deduction of Platinis and Cos summer vacations!

I remember having a few beers with a couple of Queens Park fans a few years ago. They hated Partick Thistle fans because they said they were just glory hunters following a big club with money. So I suppose it's all relative...

Most clubs need the fans for income, the EPL on the other hand I think they would survive just fine without them

FFP is a disgrace anyway. It's just a means to ensure the big European clubs stay ahead of the rest. This gives eufa the best chance of "glamour" clubs getting to the group stages. Thus ensuring eufa max the advertising potential this brings.
If an owner wants to throw HIS/HER cash at a club and not want it back then they should be allowed to.
Platini can GTF as far as I am concerned.

He's not good enough for City. Would walk into the United or Liverpool team though.

I'm not even sure he'd get a start ahead of Stanton tonight in Dingwall.

Man City & PSG are facing fines in region of £50m, restrictions on their Champions League squad size, and a wage limit for failing EUFA financial fair play rules. Pleasing.
