How much did your guests enjoy the game?

There will have been a few of us that took family/friends along last night who have rarely, if ever, been to a NYD game.

I took a mate of mine along from the Weedge who is a currant bun, had never been to a Hibs Gunnts and absolutely loved it.

How did your guests find the experience last night?

I took an Argentinian friend who supports River Plate back home and regularly attends their games.

The thing he was most impressed with on the night? The atmosphere.

Says a lot considering some of the things he'll have witnessed in his time.

My sister said it was a bit boring. TBF, she's a Social Worker and deals with people with 'Social Problems' on a regular basis, so nothing out of the ordinary for her.

Took a Dunfermline fan along who would attend ER a few times a year when he lived on Albion Place. Best game of football and best atmosphere he's ever experienced. Also blown away by the ground.

Asked when we could go back.

She could have been busy if she was in the South Stand last night!

My mate from Glasgow loved it. He got a ticket for the main stand and couldn't believe how good the atmosphere compared to Septic park!

Tears in my eyes when I read this. Why we love football and Hibernian in particular.

Went along with two mates who are Man Utd fans. They both got stuck into some singing, loved the atmosphere, went mental at the goals we scored and enjoyed some of our play. Both had Paul Hanlon as MOTM and didn't think we would hold onto him much longer. Glad they got to see a game like that.

I also took along my mate who's a season ticket holder at Old Trafford. He's been to plenty Hibs games with me before, however last night was certainly the best atmosphere he's experienced at ER.

A great read. Its fantastic to know that the lassies involved will no doubt spread the word of what an experience football can be and that ER was responsible.

There was a big squad of Spanish behind me in the West, they were all decked out in Hibs stuff and really enjoying the atmosphere! I think they were Athletico supporters and their jaws dropped when we were belting out SOL at the end!

A friend of mine has been taking his 7 year old grandson for a few months now. Until last night he'd never seen a Hibs goal (missed the St Johnstone and Kilmarnock matches). He wasn't going to go to the match last night at first until we left on Sunday and I suggested that he go as it's the holidays and would be his first derby (and possibly his last chance to see one at ER for a while). After he thought about it deeply (he really wanted to go, but it was a 7.45 KO so it would be quite late when it finished, but he really wanted to go was the general gist) he decided to go wearing his first ever Hibs top that his grandad gave him for Christmas and the Hibs beanie great grandad gave him. On the way he was bubbling with excitement with his new Hibs gear being shown off proudly.
With melee in the box he didn't really see the first goal, but he celebrated with everyone and lost his glove. The penalty was right in front of him and loved having such a good view of it.
After the match he had a huge grin on his face. Absolutely loved the match, worth losing his glove and staying up late. Taught him the Hibees bounce on the way back home and I think he's buzzing for the next game. Hopefully more goals for him (and the rest of us) on the 18th too!

Took my mate from New Zealand to his first ever derby. Obviously he's more of a rugby man than a football fan but he really wanted to experience an Edinburgh derby as I was telling him about the first two Edinburgh derbies I attended as a child with my uncle (3-0 millennium at the PBS & the unforgettable 6-2) and from there, that was an experience that he simply couldn't turn down. He loved the whole experience and thought the atmosphere was absolutely tremendous. It was funny when he was trying his best to join in with Sunshine on Leith at FT when he didn't even know the words too it and was struggling to keep up. Overall he loved it and has already told me to get the tickets sorted out for March 29th at the PBS.

Took my mate from work who lives in (and supports) manfield town. Hes a massive fan and has been to roughly 90 odd grounds in the uk, hes seen hibs before however out of all the games hes been to, this was one of if not the most emotional he has seen yet! Never got a programme though as we stayed in the pub for too long so he wasnt best impressed about that!
